| Alright, here it is, my long awaited opinion.rWe all know the story... first favorite band at 7 or 8 years old, got the Promised Land totem pole on my spine...etc...etc.rFirst. This album is definitely a grower, which is a good thing in my book. Helps this out a lot. There are some great songs on here, and some duds.rI've come to the conclusion after two albums that Todd is a great vocalist. Not so sure he's a great lyricist. Geoff, in his day, definitely has him beat there.rMichael and Parker are also great guitarists, not taking anything away from their technical ability. But I find a lot of the times that solo's end up just dwindling away, and not really fitting the song. Chris was phenomenal, so its hard not to compare.rStarting this off with a 3.5, but I think it will probably rise shortly. |
