Grotesque (After the Gramme)
Sorry in Pig Minor
For Cows 9th and final album they give perhaps their most sporadically zany performance. Moving all over the map between harsh and mellow, but always with that weird Cows energy, this album proves to be one of their most interesting. They also gave some hints to what Shannon Selberg's post-Cows project The Heroine Sheiks would sound like. All hail Cows, gem of 80s/90s noise rock, and all 9 of their great albums.
Droning repetitive psych/noise rock. More on the soft/mellow side. Some real entrancing stuff.
Sound of Confusion
Real good fuzzy, repetitive, effect-drenched psych stuff. Free yer mind and yer head will start bobbin'.
Feedback n fuzz rattlin yer bones. Fuckin HEAVY for 1968. If you dig sorta "proto-metal" stuff like Sir Lord Baltimore and hard psych/blues (some Hawkwind tunes come to mind), get a load a this.
The Monks (DE)
Black Monk Time
Scratchy guitars, buzzing bass, FRICKEN ELECTRIC BANJO... a buncha American GIs stationed in Germany in the mid 60s ya say? And they're playin this weirdo cacophonous riffraff? Dressed in monk garb with tonsures and all? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Your soundoff features the album, kudos - https://mastershammer.bandcamp.com/album/ritual
