| ||First Aid Kit Ruins|
First Aid Kit's Stay Gold is one of the most beautiful albums you will hear. This one is a bit rougher and expands their horizons, but they do not lose their folk/rock charm. An early best of 2018 contender.

| ||U2 Songs of Experience|
It would be nice for U2 to have a late career classic. This isn't it, but if you are fine with U2 doing the familiar reasonably well, you will enjoy this album.
| ||Taylor Swift Reputation|
I think the New York Times review is pretty spot on in this case. She does an admirable job of fusing other elements of pop to her signature sound. It's also a deeper album than one might suspect from the released singles. "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" has a girl group bounce, "New Year's Day" is a beautiful acoustic ballad, and "Don't Blame Me" as a sparkling R&B groove. Her voice is a bit limited on the album, and I was wishing for more songs like the more Taylor-like "Getaway Car," but overall the album is another big success for Taylor.
| ||Kelly Clarkson Meaning of Life|
To me, it is a huge disappointment. She goes for a soul/R&B sound, but the arrangements are cookie cutter and she winds up shouting a lot. Her voice is ruined on what sounds like fake soul. A couple slow burners help the album a bit, but it gets a 2 from me.
