Much as I have loved Robyn's music this record is a disappointment. The first two tracks are great highlights, and then nothing that follows reaches the same heights. The production is bright, clean and consistent, so I believe it's the songwriting that fails to leave a large impression. | 3.0

The lead singer's voice is so obnoxiously pinched, to my ears, that I'm easily deducting
0.5-1.0 point from the total album rating for that reason alone.
I dunno. It's not a bad record, but much too typically pop punk-y and not nearly enough

Damn this record is long. Like really really almost-a-feature-length-film long. And nearly
half the tracks have been released previously, so no real reason they had to be included on
this album.
I dunno, I'm used to producers using a debut LP as a sort of greatest hits collection up to
that point in their career, but in the case of Olof Dreijer it's not like he's new to the
game (or any stranger to curating stunning LPs). "Loud Bloom" just reeks of excess to me
with little to no sense of pacing. | 2.5

An improvement on her first LP. Familiar dreamy vibes and similar indie pop songwriting
mixed with dancable electronics, but this time the production is more lush, the guitars
heavier and played with more confidence.
There are several highlights, but for my money "God Damn (Finito)" is one of the most
fun/funky tracks released this year. | 4.0

Beautifully produced and thoughtfully assembled, this is Boards of Canada operating at their characteristic high level of expectation. Not a perfect album as it lacks some surprise factor, but the highlights of "Prophecy at 1420 MHz," "Naraka," "Arena Americanada" and "You Retreat in Time and Space" are all undeniable in their lush, haunted allure. | 4.0
