Entombed truly did create an original sound for themselves. This album is just pure classic
Swedish death metal. It also keeps attention very well.

This and the next one are in my opinion Entombed's best records. Left Hand Path was crucial to the European Death Metal scene. This intro always reminds me Celtic Frost's Morbid Tales. Absolute Death Metal classic.

I love the variety of rhythms and tempos on this album. Some other OSDM records will focus on being fast without ever taking time to create those intense slow moments. That isn?t a problem here. With it, you get a classic chainsaw tone that, at times, hinders the note clarity just a bit. The gutturals sound more natural than those of some other vocalists. Some songs do feel very much like filler.

Surely the best guitar-sound in all of death metal, and the music ain?t half-shabby either! Brilliant melodic and blistering solos are sprinkeled around to contrast the beautifully disgusting riffing that mostly fills the whole thing. The title-track itself is absolutely perfect, and the rest of the album is close, but still good enough for it to be a classic.

This is killer when you combine with the old Doom games. Took awhile for the vocals to grow on me since I'm used to newer, deeper death growls but now I love them. Clandestine suffers as a result with the lack of vocals from L.G. Petrov.

Entombed is among the greatest of the genre, but this is largely due to their great masterpiece, "Left Hand Path". The album begins with a desperate cry that continues to the rapid and voracious sound of the drums. The design, originality and dexterity are there, enough more songs to make "Left Hand Path" one of the best Death Metal albums in history. The pity is that maybe it's the only good one of the band's discography. But comparing is cowardice.

Not quite a classic, but there are some beastly growls, amazing riffs and nice tinges of melody. It loses a slight bit of steam at certain points but otherwise awesome record.
