its worth a 5 simply because there is not one boring song, from start to finish it keeps you interested if not blown away.
i loved crafters voice but ed seems to have more capabilities like going from screaming to death metal growling whereas crafter had one tone.

IKTPQ build upon the promise shown on their debut to impressive lengths. Ed Butcher is a much better vocalist than Michael Crafter, even if his range is a little minimal. Each song brings its own without ever becoming stale. The only downside is that they can start to blend a little, but other than that, a solid album.

I Killed The Prom Queen is an Austrailian metalcore band that has been getting a bit of a reputation which probably has something to do with another Austrailian metalcore band known as Parkway Drive and the two sharing fame in the metalcore. I checked this album out about two years ago which was like 2010. At first, I really liked the album. I thought that songs like "Say Goodbye" were pretty excellent. I used to rate this album a 3.5 out of 5 but as time passed by, it totally dropped one full point down. What I thought used to be energetic and great guitar playing is now just dull and boring especially on the breakdowns. "Say Goodbye" is still good but other than that, there's nothing much I can say about this album other than the fact that the theme for this album is suicide which I think is excellent concept. It's just a shame that the sound isn't perfected.

See my sound off for the deluxe version of Music For The Recently Deceased. This CD is still a very good one, but with the bonus tracks on the deluxe version, I can't give this more than a 4.

i've never given these guys a listen until recently and i have to say "Music For The Recently Deceased" is a pretty good album. however, what i will never understand is how so many people gave this a 4 or dare i even say..... a 5??? are you kidding me?? this is pretty good but if you are going to say it is perfect you have to be out of your mind. yes it is good, but it so repetitive that you only really have to listen to the first few songs to get the gist of the entire album.

I'll give IKTPQ a little boost up by saying this is an incredible improvement over their previous album, mainly due to the departure of Crafter, but this by no means is an excuse for the mediocre crap Music for the Recently Diseased is. From the usual boring riffs, boring breakdowns, to the uninspired 'melody', the album reeks copycat. The final straw for me was the complete rip-off of At the Gates' Blinded by Fear on the intro riff of the song Sleepless Nights and City Lights. Butcher does well as a vocalist, his range is quite impressive, but his talent is brought down by the rest of the bland and characterless dribble.

This album is a major improment on "When Goodbye Means Forever" Ed has added something to this band that it never had. His voice inhances the music and gives it, its angry hardcore-metal feel. The music in this flows a lot better than previous albums. All in all the music has somehow improved to make them one of the best hardcore-metal bands to come out of australia in a fair while! Keep up the good work IKTPQ expect another SWEET album soon! really soon!!!

I thin its really good but with ed in it it makes prom queen more generic sounding cuase i think crafter had a uniqueness about him and brought his own sound to the band which was good.

I give this album a 5 because quite simply this album fucking rocks. Also Ed Butchers screaming is more clearer then the first singer Micheal Crafter. Ed joining the band in early 2006 has made the band much more better now. I strongly suggest you buy this album. I also think you should see them in concert. So for this album i give my 5 stars all to it. MUSIC FOR THE RECENTLY DECEASED = BEST ALBUM EVER.
