This is definitely one of the songs of all time.
We hate you…
at least they're not plagiarizing metallica again
S-tier title lol
Song is absolute garbage
This song is way worse than their first single. Album is shaping up to be a mess.
Like, I appreciate that a band as mainstream as A7X is willing to experiment like this, but holy shit what a mess..
Looks the Stage was a fluke, damn.
Definition of cluster fuck, total mess, son of a bitch
what the ever loving fuck are those first 30 seconds
wtf happened to this band
shittiest fuckin dog shit turd poser band
They smoked DMT
Instrumentally this could be a tech death song almost
I like it, I'm looking forward to this album big time, awesome transitions, interesting choices in the production
I thought my speakers were broken with the vocal effects in the first few seconds.
Eh, I will say that one part at 2:26 goes kinda hard, but it doesn't really make up for everything else. Overall kinda meh song, not that much of a step up from the last single.
Man, I am wildly opposite of all of you it seems. I was worried because that intro was so rough ( those damn vocals ), but once that song kicked in…. I love it. It was like 6 different songs in one! Between the two singles Im stoked for this album. But honestly with the exception of sounding the 7th and hail to the king Ive pretty much dug everything theyve done!
you made me turn off dmx for this shit?
Thought these guys lost their sponsorship with hot topic and called it a day. God damn it
what in the fuck
can't wait to not listen to any of these singles and be surprised when it comes out
I think there is quite a bit to like with this song but the production and the vocals really drag this down.
Better than the first single? Such a weird ass song. Looks like every other album of theirs being good is going to continue. Production also reminds me of The Blackest Beautiful, just muddy as fuck.
Can't wait for them to try this shit for two more albums and release a return-to-their roots album in 2030 full of songs that sound like afterlife but now shadows has switched to a shatner inspired intonation to make up for the hole in his throat
you should check out limp bizkit's "endless slaughter" it has the same '6 songs stitched together' vibe
nah endless slaughter is 1 song with an interlude tacked on at the end
an interlude that never interluded into anything sadly
I think they got into a bunch of shrooms, I really like the direction this albums going though
i fucking love this song honestly
Wtf did I just listen to
lol this fucking band
you'd swear M Shadows was 60 on this song, dude sounds worse than james hetfield and is 20 years younger
worst fucking thing ive ever heard
the feeling isn't mutual
matt can hit the notes but the notes themselves are gay
this thread is spicy
A.I. is out of control
Lawful but awful
can't wait to not listen to any of these singles and be surprised when it comes out
Better than the last one. More interesting at least. Production still sounds really bad though.
I don't like it
As a progmetal fan, this song is pretty good.. yeah, the transitions aren't as smooth as they could've been but still, for a A7X song this is cool and really interesting
Avenged Fartyfold - it's like folding a fart into a towel. You don't actually see the art upon first listen, but as soon as you're willing to lean into it a lil more, the illusive reaction sets in.
Well...that was weird.
Videos of the live show, we should expect some heavier stuff with this album. Lots of artistic choices here with the vocals, I don't think he's shot yet
something about it that i kind of liked
his vocals are literally better live from that snippet I saw of Nobody. I wonder why they went with the take they had in the studio
Maybe it’s a concept album involving being an old soul or something and Shadows is really 80 in a younger body. Maybe he been lucid dreaming full lives
Kinda love this song. Nobody is one of the worst things I’ve heard in a long time, so this will be interesting
… they did say theyd been experimenting with DMT
Honestly not hating this direction. It’s sure as hell more interesting than simply copying a Metallica blue print
the "more ____" section feels bound to go tik tok viral
musically pretty decent, but trying way too hard to cosplay mr bungle and be 'look how experimental we are'
This is going to be the most inconsistent album of 2023, isn't it?
I'd take an album of goofy ass psuedoprog songs that sounded like this over Hail to the King.
new song "game over" they performed last night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyQxedLko_o&ab_channel=BUBBAMARTINEZ09
Jesus christ those vocals.....
yeah his vocals sound pretty bad there ngl
i'm perplexed that they still insist on playing everything in the same tuning/key with his voice in the shape that its in
The worst thing about this band is that the singer sounds like he should be singing that "You're crazy bitch" song. Can't stand his voice
Hahaha so true
His voice has degraded so much but I gotta give it to the band for making these unconventional tracks. Coulda coasted and made the same album over again, but instead we are getting whatever this is
I don’t mind the singing on this recording, but that live performance of Game Over is shocking. Bro sounds horrendous
The song is interesting for sure but in a really not good way
shittiest fuckin dog shit turd poser band
more balls more balls more balls more ball MORE BALLS
what are you 12
"but that live performance of Game Over is shocking. Bro sounds horrendous"
i checked out clips from the rest of the show and he actually sounds pretty great doing the old songs??? and his live performances of this song and "nobody" are leagues better than his studio vocals??
i just don't understand this man at all
think there has to be hella effects on his vocals on the album version of "game over" that he sounds stupid doing live without... no other explanation
he sang the glitchy part at the beginning of this song without the effects live and he sounded like he was in his prime again.
ya he sounded great from the snippets I saw. I’m stoked for the record but I’m even more excited to see them live in a few months.
TIL A7X still make music
One of the weirder songs I have heard in a hot sec
production really drags it down tho
they tried to make cute prog
their whole last album was prog m8
production's unfortunate yeah, intro sounds like it could've been insane in their prime. everything that isnt the more ___ is dope, hook is ironically kinda smooth.
from what i'm reading based on who heard it at their area 51 whatever, album is all over the place and i'm here for it.
Not quite as shit as I expected
I love it
M. Shadows always was an acquired taste but he genuinely sounds like ass now. Did he get covid or something.
The mastering on this is awful.
Mix continues to ruin whatever good, if there is any, in their music. cba
Well...that was weird
what the fuck is this
First 30 seconds are so hilariously bad lmfaoo
Just like Nobody, the only redeemable thing about the song is the solo
at least they love something. Cause no one is going to love this poor attempt at a piece of music.
More piss, more fard
More cum, more shard
A.I. is out of control
they been listening to BTBAM lately? this honestly has me kinda interested in something A7X has made for the first time in a decade. those Sein Reinert drum fills are pretty.
Destrage, but bad.
I guess we will see where this lands, but I'm kinda bummed out by this tune. I will check it within the context of the album but man...thats something
I can't tell if the song is alright or if the first 30 seconds are so terrible that the rest sounds decent by comparison
Syn is absolutely shredding though. His solos on the two singles have been wild
Good god this is bad.
Okay this is awful but, weirdly entertaining?
yeah it's the best song of the year so far in terms of entertainment value
Nobody was a fascinating song that I found myself playing over and over. I think it’s one of the premiere tracks A7X has written since they’ve adopted this progressive style. This song, however, I do not believe I’ll ever find myself returning to outside of a full listen through of the album when it is released.
avenged sevenfold love poo
Is this band trolling? There is no way this is real
these dudes must have been trolling for years then!
More piss, more fard
More cum, more shard
Production sounds in house? Maybe Shadows vox aren't deteriorated, but just showing their true form. With some proper production I'm sure things would sound closer to the status quo. Kind of cool for a fuck fest.
That new live song sounds like a freaking disney song lmao
sad how angry/caustic a lot of reactions here are lol. As if your whole day is dependent upon the quality of this song
I really, really want to like these songs. They are musically interesting, and I can see what they’re going for. They’re abnormal, progressive, and far from the formula we know from A7X.
But holy shit Matt’s vocals are gone. They’d sound better with Kid Rock.
@wretchedcacophony my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
Hate to admit it but I'm really interested in hearing this album now lol. These guys are trolling people with an album they seemingly made on DMT, should be an avant garde masterpiece.
credit where credit is due, these guys haven't made the same record twice
Y'know what bothers the crap outta me about this song is that it just keeps being so close to being good. I think the solo is pretty great. Parts of this song suggest Mr. Bungle / BtBaM type material, which I do like, but it's like 20% short of the mark for me.
Remove the vocals and most of it works. Get an industrial artist to produce the techno beat. Get better takes from M Shadows so he doesn't sound like a yawning vampire grandpa. Make sure the lyrics really hit and match the music. I believe in you, son. Even if we haven't talked in over a decade.
listened to clips of another shadows interview where he says this new album is heavily inspired by daft punk, yeezus, and kids see ghosts among other things. there's also a three part suite that is heavily inspired by travis scott's "sicko mode"
im fuckin down honestly
Honestly I'm excited for a7x's st anger bc it sounds like it'll be a highly interesting trainwreck
It would be their Lulu tho I think.
"listened to clips of another shadows interview where he says this new album is heavily inspired by daft punk, yeezus, and kids see ghosts among other things. there's also a three part suite that is heavily inspired by travis scott's "sicko mode""
The more I read this the more it feels like an elaborate shitpost but honestly at this point I wouldn't be surprised with them.
"nobody" is a trainwreck
"we love you" is thomas the dank engine smoking a fat durry while multi-track drifting across the trolley problem
Average rating of this album will be in the low to mid 2s.
fuck u guys this is art
I love crazy ass songs, but there is little payoff and no good choruses in it. Better than the first single at least
it's definitely a song
Insanely weird song lol, cool to hear him scream again tho
Really hoping we get more of that. I didn’t know he had it in him. Last track with harsher vocals was Not Ready to Die I think. I know HttK didn’t have any and I’m pretty sure the Stage didn’t either.
I was talking to a friend about this song and the possibility that it was written by an AI, considering A7X has apparently stated that they were open to the possibility of AI writing their songs so food for thought I guess
Honestly this is so fucking off the wall for them. The solo and the fast section were actually pretty neat.
so I was joking but it might actually be true lol
Eak, check out the list I just made. weird coincidence. I've stumbled upon some weird ass possibly AI created metal on spotify
pretty sure their s/t and hail to the king were written by AI
Honestly wouldn't be surprised if this was AI-made considering their prior experience with NFTs, they would just be jumping from one trend to the other.
Song is a grower, really love the hard pans on the outro.
Just saw them live and I’m really confused how the studio recording’s vocals are worse than a live performance of the same song.
the vocals on the studio version of Game Over also sound very questionable, why tf is he choosing to sing like this? https://www.reddit.com/r/avengedsevenfold/comments/13vbiv0/snippet_of_game_over_album_version/
makes game over sound normal
He sounds fine whenever he just sings normally, so I’m confused why he’s choosing to do this weird old man voice
Lol, all the hate comments and this album ended up being excellent. Fucking embarrassed for you all xD
err'body after listening to the whole ablum: perhaps i judged you too harshly
Interesting to see how many people here shat all over this track. Album slaps.
this fits right into the album. its poo.
This song is complete ass. Don't know about the album because I didn't listen because I've never really liked this band
lots of people seemed to like the album. but lots of people also listen to ed sheeran so you know.
I did not like this album but I must say the chorus in this song grew on me
catchy in a bad way I guess. like when you get mad at yourself when you catch yourself singing it cause it's stuck in your head lol
I love the calm atmospheric chorus in the middle.
