Great track, and good to see the classic "band playing their shit" music video as opposed to a bunch of live clips spliced together.
| |
Holy shit bloc you know who that new guitarist is?? The fucking City In The Sea guitarist hahaha
| |
This is pretty good. I wasn't expecting that
| |
slaps
| |
banger
| |
Great song. Love the solos near the end
| |
The solo's were good but they would have been better if they were multi's
| |
not bad
| |
Pretty awesome song. These guys never sat right with me but I can get down to this
| |
"Holy shit bloc you know who that new guitarist is?? The fucking City In The Sea guitarist hahaha"
wtfffffffff
| |
Lmaoooo right? I was shocked when I read that name and had to double take to make sure it was actually him in the video
| |
I gotta rewatch the video then. I kinda had it minimized for most of the song.
I notice with brand new members they give them zero face time in their music videos until things get more official.
| |
This slaps. Absolutely loved it
| |
What is so special about Nick Rossi? Is he like a scene/genre legend?
| |
This is the best song I've heard from them in a minute! Good shit.
| |
Was not expecting new Born of Osiris to slap this hard. Song rips
| |
"What is so special about Nick Rossi? Is he like a scene/genre legend?"
Nah no legend haha he was just the lead guitarist of this other band signed to Sumerian back in 2013. They only released one album and me and bloc have been bumping that thread for years hoping for a comeback
| |
Don't think I have listend to BoO before but this is pre neat
Also, jumping on the Nick Rossi train. I like the cut of this guy's guitar
| |
Surprisingly good after these guys have sort of stagnated over the last few years. The solo actually had a bit of room to breathe and was really fun and lively
| |
Listened to this like 30 times today. Best BOO since The Discovery, and the solos are incredible. Reminds me of Lee McKinney’s great solo record.
| |
Is this getting hype?
| |
I’ve only ever enjoyed like, 3 Born of Osiris songs, but y’all are hyping this up so much I gotta check.
I’ve never heard of Nick Rossi before, but he was one of the guitarists that did In Motive which was kind of cool so that gives me another reason. To do that project and then jump to this, he music be a pretty good, diverse player.
| |
That was okay I guess. 3/5.
| |
Good track, but parts of the video remind me of that total classic STICK STICKLY.
| |
Pleasantly surprised by this song, I like it
| |
Mixing is superb and Cameron's drumming is the best it's sounded in a hot minute. Cool to see this band still going strong after so many years.
| |
Pretty good!
| |
Yessss. Hope they can keep up solid releases after their last disc
| |
Terrible vid lol
| |
This song is fire but it isnt anything different from what they've been doing on their last 2 albums so what exactly makes it so special to the people that act like this is their first great song in ages?
| |
i thought this was After The Burial once the song got going, its pretty good, that solo is particularly n i c e
| |
The guitar work on this is some of their best in a while. Sounds like they've really stepped it up during the pandemic tech/riff writing wise. Also nice to hear twin guitar solos are back.
Watching the vid again, where the hell is the bassist that plays the Musicman Bongo and looks high 24/7??
| |
This is pretty cool.
| |
"Watching the vid again, where the hell is the bassist that plays the Musicman Bongo and looks high 24/7??"
True he wasn't in this, I hope he didn't leave the band because he ruled
| |
On wiki they don’t have a bassist:
In 2018, the band departed on the Summer Slaughter tour. On July 16, 2018, they released the first single, titled "Silence the Echo," and announced the departure of longtime bassist, David Da Rocha, who has been featured in all Sumerian releases with the band. Nick Rossi of In Motives was introduced as his replacement.
Sounds like Nick did bass, now doing guitar, and they have no bassist
| |
That solo is an absolute masterpiece. Song rules hard. It is their best song in years
| |
That solo was pretty damn fire. Maybe the first song since The Discovery that I've thoroughly enjoyed by these guys?
| |
Yeah, that first guitar solo is cool af.
| |
how many triangles are in this tho
| |
*how many triangles with an eye in the center are in this tho
One thing I've always liked about Lee's leads in BOO is that they're not very note-y. He leaves a lot of gaps in between the notes which is kinda unique in a way. New guy killed his shit too
| |
One of the best songs they've put out in years.
| |
This is great!
| |
damn i like something from born of osiris? thats new
| |
bloc, I agree about Lee. Different genre but it’s why David Gilmour from Pink Floyd is my favorite guitarist of all time. Instead of pure technicality, he lets his guitar speak.
| |
I wonder if Lee's solo album was any good. I heard one of the lead singles and it was pretty boring. The word "quantized" was thrown around quite a bit among the critics lol
| |
^ I dug it
| |
Bloc, I love Lee’s solo album (getting the vinyl delivered in a few days). It’s like the solo in this but a lot more chill.
