whole album was released digitally yesterday
| | | they be killing it, this is the first time they took 2 years to release an album, which is insane, their sound is pretty derivative by this point, but definitely can't deny they are still making great tracks
| | | Why is it insane that they took 2 years to release an album? That's good haha. It's normal. Not digging this band ever since "Thrill". That's their best song to date. Everything else after feels like whatever label took them over pushed out the most watered-down version of this band they could think of.
| | | Technically their last album came out in December 2019 (Jan 2020 in Europe)
| | | Ok fair, I meant previous to that they released an album every year with no breaks, that's what I'm saying is insane, anyways, it doesnt matter, good band, good music
| | | is band-maid a band made up of bandmate maids?
| | | yes, hard rock and metal at some points, they are a great band
| | | I would highly disagree that their only good song is "Trill" and in my opinion their rising popularity is well deserved as they have been one of the best j-rock bands to come out from the 2010s (as in bands who started in that decade) Just for the albums "world Domination" and "Conqueror" at the end of the decade (though their other albums minus the first one were pretty stellers also). With "Everything else after feels like whatever label took them over pushed out the most watered-down version of this band they could think of." If anything that would be their first album (aka Pre: Thrill) which sounds to be frank, nothing like the band-maid we know now and more like a SCANDAL clone. Also given that they have shifted labels for more creative freedom, I think it's more evident that this is just the style that they wanna play. I can understand if this is not someone's thing (Like for example, I understand how much I love conquerer, i mean I 5ed the album for crying out loud) that it was a rather very divisive release.
In terms of their content release schedule, it is insane, it's like Early 2010's Gazette in how fast they drop albums. This album was supposed to actually come out a few months earlier but was delayed cause of COVID. I know the Gazette comparison is weird, but what this album's Limited edition (the one with 14 tracks) being basically a double EP I dunno why but I am expecting some similarities with DIVISION (not in the genre of course) because the names of the discs are kinda identical and it just seems both albums are going to use similar concepts. I wonder if its going to be the whole disc. this genre (in the style of world domination/Just Bring It), and the other disc. in this genre (in the style of the conqueror) like how DIVISON was (disc 1: soft, Alt-rock Disc 2: heavy, Industrial Metal), and seeing how much I love that album and this band I am very much looking forward to this.
| | | I'll tell you something that REALLY annoys me about Japanese music releases: You have to get like 3 different versions of the album to get all the bonus tracks. This album has the online edition (12 tracks), the "standard" CD version (13 tracks) and a 2 disc version (14 tracks with one track used twice, and a different bonus track to the standard CD version) and it is literally impossible to find those extra tracks anywhere online
| | | Japanese people love collectible shit haha. That's why.
