New Harakiri For The Sky Song 2020-11-12 by Fernando Alves STAFF | 23 Comments |
Austrian outfit Harakiri For The Sky shared a video for 'Sing For The Damage We've Done', the second single of the upcoming album Mære to be released on 29th January 2021, via AOP Records. The track features Alcest's Neige.
"This song deals with estrangement", singer and lyricist J.J. explains. "The feeling of co-existing alongside of each other and starting to hate the other person, which always leads to smaller or bigger damage and injuries. The incomprehension why the other person doesn't understand you anymore, and the constant question why everything always has to end in an ugly way. When you can't live with one another, but also not without each other anymore..."
Neige adds:
"I feel honored to have been invited to perform guest vocals on the song « Sing For The Damage We've Done » of Harakiri For The Sky. We have been friends for many years now and it’s a real pleasure to have been a small part of their new album! Hope you guys will like the track!"

Harakiri for the Sky felt like a joke name, but this is pretty good me likey.

as someone whos not a fan of black metal, i can really enjoy their melodic/clean sensibilities. good band. wish the screamed vocals were louder in the mix though. that seems to be across their albums too
|
| |
Trauma was excellent. Not a big fan of black metal either but I dig these guys.
|
| |
wasn't super huge on the last album, and the mix seems a bit weird here, but I could see this being good
|
| |
Song was pretty good. Last album was a grower, try giving it another shot. The expectations set by Trauma and Aokigahara were really high, after all.
|
| |
whenever I see this band name I expect them to be screamo and I don't know why
|
| |
^ maybe its the band name?
Although it is quite nonsensical.
I agree with the mix though, the vocals seem a bit too subdued. I wonder how that translates live.
|
| |
85 mins, their albums keep getting longer
|
| |
shit band
|
| |
pretty good band, great song, shit opinion
|
| |
3 strikes in 1 go
|
| |
Nice! Price ceremony when?
|
| |
Meh, gets old pretty fast, theres only so many blast beats in a row before it becomes monotonous
|
| |
"whenever I see this band name I expect them to be screamo and I don't know why"
you might be thinking of Together to the Stars, with whom I always confuse this band lol
|
| |
tbf, aokigahara is p cool. but yes, they have a tendency to really draw out their songs and the low vocals in the mix doesnt make it any more listenable lol
|
| |
Still one of my favorite bands. I'm really excited for the full album to drop.
|
| |
This is my friend's favorite band. They alright.
|
| |
I dont understand the shitty mix/production decisions made in this genre. I Pallbearer sounds like a good tune, but it also sounds like my friend next door mixed and produced it for them on his macbook.
|
| |
^ i feel like its a purposeful decision. their clean sections seem to be mixed more full-y. the black metal stuff seems to be when they dial their mix into one fucking zone lol
|
| |
So, black metal has entered its buttrock phase? I'm not complaining, this is actually kind of okay.
But that band name is fucking awful jfc.
|
| |
iirc, harakiri is like samurai suicide lol.
|
| |
SO METAL

Thought I'd get more hate for that take tbh. I just don't understand why this is a thing across the genre. I guess people like it though.
I actually checked out a few of their songs and enjoyed them, could just use a bit more polish.
