RIP Tony Allen 2020-05-03 by Cyan isn't a shade of blue. | 10 Comments | Tony Allen has passed from an abdominal aortic aneurysm on Apri 30th, 2020 in a hospital in Paris, France.
He is often credited as the inventor of Afrobeat due to his unique drumming style. He is most famous for his work with Fela Kuti and The Afrika 70' from 1969-1979, though he has a wide breadth of work post his departure.
Brian Eno referred to Allen as "perhaps the greatest drummer who has ever lived."
