Falling in Reverse share reimagined single

2020-02-13 by Halez | 25 Comments
Falling in Reverse have went back roughly a decade to reimagine one of their earliest tracks, "The Drug in Me Is You".

The new version of the track that defined their debut contains alternate instrumentation compared to the original, such as heavy use of the piano.

I cant quite tell what exactly it is, but whatever slight effects are on his voice were incredibly unnecessary and realllllllly ruin any potential enjoyment I could have gotten out of this.

It sounds like he is channeling Taylor Swift and songs from the hit Disney movie Frozen

No it's not lol this is just a poorly done piano rendition, he doesn't know how to translate the vocals into a softer arrangement

From what I understand, the vocalist is a decent pianist - so I can buy the gimmick of him singing behind a piano for the video. As for the actual 'rearrangement'? It's certainly a cool idea, but the production on this is what actually hurts most. The pitch correction is so obvious/accurate that it detracts from any raw emotion that could've been presented had they not gone that route. Truthfully, it would've been better to record the song raw to evoke a more 'natural' feel. And reading the comments...yeah, "Raised By Wolves" still slaps to this day (along with "Born to Lead")
