First two are great, Quintessence and Empiricism are great, Winter Thrice is pretty.. prettty... prettty good. There are some lulls in their discog though for sure

Yes, the last three especially. This sounds like a return to form.

I think I've heard something from these guys over the years, but I honestly don't remember much. It looks like this album will be the one that gets me into these guys.

I like most of their albums but their early era and last couple are the strongest. Winter thrice is a great return to form

Ha ha. I'm not. I've had this for about a month, and it's definitely my tentative number one. Things may change, but if my list was done today... I don't really have a favorite Borknagar album because I've never been their biggest fan, but my other two favorites is Winter Thrice, and this is way better than that.

depends on what Borknagar you've heard dude, they've had 3 main singers, but ICS Vortex has been the singer on the last few, before that it was Vintersorg, before that it was ICS Vortex, before that it was Garm so.. maybe (:

Wasn’t Vintersorg on the last one too? I always get who is on what confused.

Vintersorg and Vortex shared vocal duties on the last album with Vintersorg being the 'main' vocalist. Vortex and Lars (keyboardist for this band and vocalist (Etc) for Solefald) share vocal duties on this album, with Vortex being the main vocalist (on most songs, anyway. Lars is main vocalist on at least one).

Lars is one of my favorite vocalists. I love them on Solefald and Age Of Silence, so it was cool to hear them so much on this album. The song he takes the lead on is easily my favorite on this album: "Lights". I think there's a few other songs where he's the main vocalist, but it's honestly hard to tell sometimes because he and Vortex sound so similar sometimes on this.
