sounds like an agony and irony b-side
lyrics are still pretty bad tho
|
| |
only decent song out of the 5 (i think?) they've already released. this album is going to be painfully boring
|
| |
"her cloak and dagger mouth tastes like medicine" is a serious contender for the worst lyric of 2019
this was so boring. I have a lot of respect for the members of Alkaline Trio that aren't Matt, because Is This Thing Cursed was fantastic, and it's a shame that Matt attached himself to this band that should have quit after Neighborhoods at latest
|
| |
maybe it's because i have unconditional love towards matt especially when he pushes his upper register but this is def my top song from the skiba era of blink
|
| |
bad
|
| |
Wanna be boxcar racer
|
| |
it's decent ish
|
| |
Seriously lacking some Tom DeLonge.
|
| |
This is so awful
Please just stop blink, go make car insurance jingles or something
|
| |
I really never cared for this band; I still remember me and my brothers dreading having to play Girl at the Rockshow when playing through Amplitude on a higher difficulty
|
| |
If you'd let me hear this in 2001 and told me it was the blink of the future I would have probably stopped listening to music. Amazingly bad. The autotune effect is so bad.
|
| |
bloody heck this is terrible. i really wish tom delonge would stop his search for extraterrestrial life forms and at least try and salvage this mess.
|
| |
Band sux song sux
|
| |
Like every other song so far, meh.
|
| |
"wish tom delonge would stop his search for extraterrestrial life forms and at least try and salvage this mess"
pretty sure he won't regret his decision to leave when he listens to 2019 Blink.
|
| |
This album might somehow be worse than California imo
|
| |
"pretty sure he won't regret his decision to leave when he listens to 2019 Blink."
He's been making mostly decent music with AVA for a while, so there's literally no reason for him to go back.
|
| |
this sucks, and i for one blame Feldmann
|
| |
The song is meh and the chorus is cringe
|
| |
"He's been making mostly decent music with AVA for a while, so there's literally no reason for him to go back."
the dude was clearly the creative force behind blink. but i guess he had the good sense to know the band was done when he left.
|
| |
The lyrics and production are so awful that even me, someone who's a complete slut for Matt Skiba, can't stand to listen to it. The only thing these most recent blink songs have given me is an obvious sign that they are not progressing at all.
|
| |
This sucks.
blink-182, give us Matt Skiba back.
|
| |
Easily my favorite of the singles.
Still a 2.8/5
|
| |
"this band that should have quit after Neighborhoods at latest"
That's being generous, their s/t would have been a fantastic cap to their discography.
|
| |
I'm still in awe people think DeLonge should be back in this band in 2019, do y'all live in denial or what
|
| |
"can't wait for Tom to come back and drop a hot track about how women are trash and I should buy stock in his pyramid sche-uhh company"
|
| |
How women are trash??
|
| |
never heard the lyrics to Snake Charmer huh
|
| |
These guys are in their 40s and they're still singing about crushing on some girl smh
Song is bad
|
| |
Hahahhaha the album is called Nine
Maybe it will be as good as Saves the Day’s 9
|
| |
nothing is as bad as saves the day's 9
|
| |
“never heard the lyrics to Snake Charmer huh“
1. i don’t think “good girls like to sin” falls under slut shaming if that’s what you mean
2. even if it was pretty sure the whole band had a helping hand in writing that song so delonge shouldn’t be the only one singled out
|
| |
and i wait and i wait and i wait and i wait and i wait and i wait for it to end.
|
| |
Eh, it was alright
|
| |
hold up there's another amplitude player on sputnik? this thread is now about amplitude only
|
| |
"I'm still in awe people think DeLonge should be back in this band in 2019, do y'all live in denial or what"
Oh no, people are just realizing that Tom was the talented one and that Mark and Travis are terrible musicians. Skiba obviously has like 0 input.
|
| |
"Skiba obviously has like 0 input."
of the four singles released, three have 3/4ths of their runtime with Skiba on lead. do you people just not live in reality, I'm struggling to understand
|
| |
Nine is such a creative name. Reminds me of Incubus’ 8, an uninspired, unbelievably dull, spinning their wheels album.
|
| |
actually i take back what i said about saves the day incubus's 8 is definitely the worst fucking thing
|
| |
Skiba obviously has like 0 input.
i have a very strong feeling he wrote this one. sounds pretty alk3
dunno how much effort he puts into blink tho. i saw an interview where he talked about how he just totally half-asses his ghostwriting work and i feel like that attitude could apply equally to blink, like he's just in it for the laffs and the cash rather than the artistry (dude's gettin old so maybe sluggin thru the alk3 cycle and makin relatively little money just aint cuttin it anymore)
Tom was the talented one and that Mark and Travis are terrible musicians.
well this is wrong but i'd definitely back the assertion that especially on the later blink albums, tom is clearly the superior songwriter. recent AVA also blows any recent blink outta the water
|
| |
it's ironic that the song is called darkside cause they're the equivalent of the star wars franchise at this point.
|
| |
yeah calling Travis a terrible musician is a mistake, he's an excellent drummer. Songwriter? Who knows.
"it's ironic that the song is called darkside cause they're the equivalent of the star wars franchise at this point."
I thought this would be the once place I wouldn't have to deal with people moaning about TLJ
|
| |
Yeah, I meant that Travis and Mark are terrible songwriters. Both are good at playing their respective instruments lol.
"of the four singles released, three have 3/4ths of their runtime with Skiba on lead. do you people just not live in reality, I'm struggling to understand"
In terms of songwriting, my man. The quality gap between Alkaline Trio's most recent material and California/this piece of shit is so noticeable. It's extremely far fetched and unreal to think that Matt is a creative force on blink, unless he puts in zero effort and just cashes in. Do you people just not live in reality, I'm struggling to understand
|
| |
i mean if this is what it takes for matt to have the financial security to not feel like he has to write from here to infirmary again then i'd much rather have blink sound like this and infrequent trio sound as good as the stuff that makes them the best in the genre over infrequent blink and mediocre trio
|
| |
As someone who thought California was just ok, I’m not looking forward to this one that much, it’s got potential to be their worst album when it drops by a pretty big gap. Kind of a shame, especially off the back of Matt’s run with Alkaline Trio last year.
|
| |
i'd much rather have blink sound like this and infrequent trio sound as good as the stuff that makes them the best in the genre over infrequent blink and mediocre trio [2]
unless he puts in zero effort and just cashes in.
just for emphasis, im pretty sure this is it
|
| |
I guess this and Generational Divide are the best out of the bunch, but that doesn't really...say much...
|
| |
"just for emphasis, im pretty sure this is it"
Yeah, either that or he just plays his guitar parts, sings and do whatever Mark and Travis say, all while cashing in his paychecks to eventually go out there and make music that he likes.
|
| |
which tbf is better than either band could do before he joined
|
| |
song's not bad but they're really shooting themselves in the foot calling it blink 182
"Happy Days" on the other hand, actually does sound like a blink song. and i'm not saying bands have to or should stick to a particular sound, but when this big change is joined with one of their pivotal members being replaced? just call it a new project ffs
