Songs aren’t offensively bad, but aren’t really good either. Very plastic.

who asked for this

still kickin?
or is that just a death rattle?
|
| |
Meh
|
| |
its Motley Crue, were they ever kicking?
|
| |
So they stopped shouting at the devil and decided to ride with him instead. What sweet boys.
|
| |
For some reason whenever I hear something by Motley Crue I'm always expecting something less languid than I get. These weren't terrible, but if I never hear them again my life won't be poorer.
|
| |
The movie is awful apparently.
|
| |
we had the premiere at the theater I work at and I've never seen such a hive of scum and villainy
|
| |
God damn it stay dead
|
| |
Ride with the devil is straight garbage. And how is Red Hot a new track??
|
| |
Still kickin......
kickin a dead horse amirite
|
| |
"The movie is awful apparently."
It's exactly what it was meant to be. A scuzzy and shallow, but entertaining, biopic. I find all the outraged reviews of the movie hilarious. It's kind of like going to watch Bohemian Rhapsody and getting angry at the fact that they killed off Freddie at the end.
|
| |
Movie wasn't too bad tbf
|
| |
Overrated band that was just slightly edgier than Poison and Warrant so they stood out and that's the only reason they did.
|
| |
"It's kind of like going to watch Bohemian Rhapsody and getting angry at the fact that they killed off Freddie at the end."
:p
It's even truer when Freddy Mercury doesn't die at the end of Bohemian Rhapsody. We're told the year of his death but it's different, the story of the movie ends in 1986.
|
| |
"Overrated band that was just slightly edgier than Poison and Warrant so they stood out and that's the only reason they did."
More likely because they were around well before Poison and Warrant and set the template for them.
|
| |
Interesting read, movie should be interesting at least

That's a fact. Motley Crue was easily the most influential glam metal band back in the day.
SEX, DRUGS & ROCK & ROLL

Weren't these guys supposed to be, like, officially retiring? To the point that they signed some legal document saying they can never tour again as a band? Then again this is for a movie soundtrack so this is probably the final material we ever get from them.
I hope this movie's not horrible though. Motley Crue were actually the first band I ever got into, way back when I was 5 years old. My dad used to read The Dirt when I was in the first half of elementary school, but he'd never let me read it, haha. I did try to sneak and read it once but I gave up after I saw "come" used as a noun and spelled in a way I didn't recognize.
|
| |
can they just die already
|
| |
The incident in question involved Sixx having sex with a woman in a closet at the height of Mötley Crüe’s outrageous party days, and as he told The Dirt co-author Neil Strauss, he told her at one point that he had to go to the bathroom and then tricked her into having sex with bandmate Tommy Lee in his place when he returned. The next morning, the woman called Sixx and told him that she had been raped, but Sixx was “relieved” when she said that it had happened when she was hitchhiking home—and not that she had realized what he had done.
Straight class.

apologie for poor english

How is Red Hot a new song???
The new songs are The Dirt, Ride with the Devil, Crash and Burn and the cover of Like a Virgin.
They are generally bad, especially the cover of Like a Virgin, just dreadful
|
| |
probably the last band anyone would ever want to reform
|
| |
“ The next morning, the woman called Sixx and told him that she had been raped, but Sixx was “relieved” when she said that it had happened when she was hitchhiking home—and not that she had realized what he had done.”
I knew he was a piece of shit, but goddamn.

i watched the movie. as bad as MGK was, he was one of the most likable characters because nikki sixx and vince neil are just such insufferable douchebags. but the movie pretty much painted them all as scumbags except for mick mars.
|
| |
Huh, never would have guessed that the dude who co-wrote their autobiography is the same guy who wrote The Game.
Movie was pretty mediocre, had some (unintentionally) hilarious moments but mostly it was just kind of a slog, especially the last 40 mins or so. It was very much a "tell-all" that leaves out the *actually* unflattering parts of "all".
|
| |
I personally enjoyed the movie for what it was. And surprisingly, even though I can't stand MGK.. I thought his acting was pretty decent
|
| |
why the fuck are they putting MGK in movies.
|
| |
He was pretty good in SLC Punk 2 so I wasn't particularly surprised that he did a good job here. He's not untalented as an actor, and it probably helped that he got to play basically the only actually likable character.
|
| |
In the wise words of Family Guy:
"Oh my God. Who. The hell. Caaares?"
|
| |
Honestly MGK pretty much crushed it as Tommy.
|
| |
"Honestly MGK pretty much crushed it as Tommy."
this.
And the movie, while it's not some work of art, it is excellent for what it is.
I really liked how the band members were portrayed as the products of their time and upbringing.
Good mothers kick ass everywhere, but Greek ones are a league of their own. The scene were Lee's mom is calling out his girlfriend, is sooo typical.
Most movie critics can't look past their nose.
|
| |
Movie critics are a product of their time too.
|
| |
"but the movie pretty much painted them all as scumbags except for mick mars." My impression of the band in general is that most of them are total rockstar ego douches, but Mick is just kind of a chill old man. Of course he had to be the one who got that fucked up spine problem...
