New Mötley Crüe Song (ft.MGK)

In anticipation for their upcoming Netflix biographical "The Dirt" (based on their NY Times best selling novel of the same name), Los Angeles hair metal legends Mötley Crüe have released the song "The Dirt (Est. 1981)" featuring MGK ahead of the film's March 22nd debut. Not only is this their first new song in five years, but also the first to be released after their contractually stipulated "non-disbandment" in 2015.

The track continues to follow the trajectory set by the majority of their late aughts output, a cleaner and more modern take on their trademarked sleaze rock sound. It's the first of four new tracks ("Ride With The Devil", "Crash And Burn" and the band's own spin on Madonna's "Like A Virgin") to be released in promotion for the movie.

I'm looking forward to the film, but fack this song is garbage. Vince sounds like ass -- the chorus is so flat

I can't wait for the movie either, but agree, song is weak. It's gross how obvious the ghostwriting is. This doesn't sound like The Crue at all. I wish they would stop being lazy and actually try to write their own music again.

I don't expect much either, but they are my all time favorite band, so a bit more effort would be appreciated haha. Yeah Vince looks absolutely T E R R I B L E , but he still sounds surprisingly okay, so I'll take it.

Song was middling but it's cool to at least know the guys are back to kind of speaking. MGK was not good at all, not least of all because of those painful lyrics, but hopefully the guy can act at least. I'll see the movie as long as reviews are decent. Also SOLA was a solid album for what it was.

John Corabi is amazing, but with only one MC album, it's kind of hard to tell if he would have continued to be quality. Vince from '81-'91 was a beast, especially Shout at the Devil & Dr. Feelgood.

I love John Corabi voice and his guitar playing, but shit. But Vince was the perfect vocalist for this band in the '80s. Replacing him with Crabby was like replacing David Lee Roth with Sammy Hagar; sure the guy was a better singer, but the band just wasn't the same.

There's probably a reason why you're in the minority. They may have been shit after Vince returned but s/t doesn't sniff Dr. Feelgood, Too Fast For Love or Shout at the Devil.
