Embracer's gear stolen in California

2019-02-19 by JohnFire | 15 Comments
Charleston, West Virginia band Embracer fell victim to a string of cars being broken into in Long Beach, California. They just passed the halfway point in support of their latest LP, No Gospel. Reportedly all of their gear was stolen, forcing them to cancel the rest of the tour dates and drive home, looking at a 20k bill to repurchase what was stolen.

The message by the band on Facebook reads:

"unfortunately last night our van was broken into 2000 miles away from home and more than 20000 dollars of gear was stolen from us. it goes without saying that this is a huge setback for us. we’re only asking from the bottoms of our hearts if you can contribute, share, etc we have set up a gofundme and the link is [below] here. we will be canceling the remainder of our tour and heading home to regroup and try to look forward to the future. thank you in advance for your kindness, and we hope to bounce back from this as soon as possible."

a single guitar or amp can constitute $2000+. that doesn't seem insane.

They were just in my town and we got to hang with them for a bit. Cool fuckin' dudes. Go throw 'em a few bucks.

most bands usually rent things like amps and such when on the road though don't they?

I don't think so. They usually load their own stuff up and drag it around in a trailer or something. At least that was the case in my experience.

This sucks. Checking the band out and will probs donate, too.
