New Smashing Pumpkins single, LP

2018-09-14 by neekafat | 20 Comments
The Smashing Pumpkins have released a new single from their upcoming album titled Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun., which is out November 16th. The LP was originally planned on being released as two EPs, but these plans were evidently scrapped in favor of a full album.

The song, "Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)," is the second single from the reunited band, showcasing a lighter sound compared to the first release, "Solara."

The full tracklist:
1. Knights of Malta
2. Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)
3. Travels
4. Solara
5. Alienation
6. Marchin’ On
7. With Sympathy
8. Seek And You Shall Destroy

Really looking forward to it. Wish it was more than 8 songs but I’m happy we’re getting one at all. Assuming it’ll be better than Elegy and more in line with Oceania.

Album title makes me nervous he's striving for another Teargarden-esque "opus"--which, we know how well that worked out last go-round. Still, Oceania was pretty damn great, and so's this song, so here I am, cautiously optimistic in spite of myself.

Solid song. Better than Solara (not that that was bad, just a little meh).

Glad y'all are digging the song too, its about on par with Solara for me rn but that grew on me a lot so hopefully this will too
And yeah album title can go fuck itself, still not convinced this'll be on par with Oceania

Probably Corgan playing guitar but maybe it's Iha.

I could be going crazy, but I swear I hear some Iha backing vocals.

song is good, but god, I hate the mix of both tracks so far. it sounds so flat and overprocessed.

The last one sounded kinda Zeitgeist, this one's like a mix of Machina and Teargarden sounds
