Do the first two dates need to be there, as they have already passed at the time of publishing?
| | | doesn’t matter its not like I can afford the anyway
| | | Done
| | | Single is good enough that I'm more excited about a new PJ album in 2018 than I ever thought I'd be. There's a certain viciousness lurking that has been absent since... probably before Backspacer? The song actually reminds me of No Code, which I wasn't expecting at all. Eddie's voice sounds amazing.
| | | Ummm...is that Vedder singing? What happened to his voice? Those verses sound...not bad...but not like him either.
| | | It's definitely Vedder. Almost seems like he's channeling Chris Cornell at points, which is... fitting.
| | | vedder not sounding like himself can only be a good thing considering he usually sounds like a goat
no i didn't listen to this
| | | Song is pretty bad tbh. The cover is pretty pandering too.
| | | Yeah this song is pretty not good
| | | Holy hell this is so bad come on
More political bullshit out of the hard rock world, of course.
| | | Pearl Jam have been pretty political for their entire careers, particularly Vedder, though it is not always reflected in the music. If there ever was a good time for political opinions in rock music, it is now. Get over it.
| | | I think vedder is like so great because he like believes in human rights and like is not shallow at all and like refused to make music videos and like overexpose the band, and totally like donated all his money to people in need, except the last part which is also the most important one..
| | | "Pearl Jam have been pretty political for their entire careers, particularly Vedder, though it is not always reflected in the music. If there ever was a good time for political opinions in rock music, it is now. Get over it."
The problem is that these bands think they are being edgy with it, when in reality they're just echoing things most people have already known/believed for a while so it just ends up being cringe.
| | | Did Pearl Jam get a new vocalist??? Seriously though, this song sucks. If this wasn’t Pearl Jam no one would give a single fuck about this song.
| | | Hot damn, Vedder's got some energy on this one.
I just wish the guitars were mixed louder to match.
| | | I don't think Pearl Jam in any way thinks they are "edgy." They are in their 50s.
| | | Pretty middle of the road.
| | | when you compare this political song to stuff like Do the Evolution or Worldwide Suicide, it's quite striking. This song thinks it has bite but it has no teeth.
| | | @jmh886 Yea, okay to have political opinions that only cater to one side I'm sure.
| | | sounds kind of like a shitty Chris cornell
| | | Pearl Jam donated about 300k to my hometown a few years ago. I'm pretty sure that hasn't been their only large donation. They do put their money where their mouth is.
| | | @Crimson if you want songs that pander to the other side, there is an entire genre you can explore.
| | | @greencorn @crimson Yep. it rhymes with Monthly
| | | This is terrible
| | | @greencorn5 I don't want any pandering, cause worrying too much about the message usually hurts the music. This song is a pretty good example.
