Amorphis announce new album

2018-02-22 by Christopher Geriak | 32 Comments
Finnish melodic death metal/doom metal artists Amorphis have now officially announced their upcoming album Queen of Time. It is the follow up to 2015's Under The Red Cloud, and will again be produced by Jens Bogren. The album will feature some new elements in Amorphis, including real orchestral arrangements as well as lyricist Pekka Kainulainen, who has a spoken part in the Finnish language.

Queen of Time will also mark the return of founding member Olli-Pekka Laine after their longtime bassist Niclas Etelävuori departed last year. The album is scheduled for a May 18th release date via Nuclear Blast.

Interesting you guys are digging that artwork! I'm personally not really a fan of it. The patterns and detail are amazing, but the face kinda looks like megatron from the new transformer movies, and that Ukonvasara for a nose is a bit odd.

But either way, I'm very excited about some new material

If someone cares, please feel free to create a news article on Sputnik, because I don't really know how to do that.

Every time a band announces "real orchestral arrangements", it seems to be code for "we put all our time and resources into this one novel element and every other part of the album is weak"... just saying.
