New Melvins featuring Jeff Pinkus

2018-02-20 by sean | 22 Comments
(the) Melvins have released a new single from their forthcoming album, Pinkus Abortion Technician. The song, titled "Stop Moving To Florida", is a medley featuring covers of "Stop" by James Gang and "Moving To Florida" by Butthole Surfers.

In addition, this upcoming album features Butthole Surfers' Jeff Pinkus in the lineup, who has collaborated with Melvins in the past. He will be sharing bass duties with current Melvins bassist Steven McDonald.

The album will also feature covers of "Graveyard" by Butthole Surfers and "I Want To Hold Your Hand" by The Beatles. The record will be released on Ipecac Recordings.

I really like Melvins but it wouldn't kill them to take a break. I haven't been in love with an album from them since A Senile Animal in 2006.

It's hard to get too excited for modern day Melvins but even their new albums generally have a few killer tracks.
