New Bjork Song!

2017-11-15 by Right-clicker mentality | 20 Comments
Icelandic musician Björk has just released a new song entitled "Blessing Me", from her yet-unreleased album Utopia, due on November 24th. The song sees the singer in a more stripped back and soft vocal delivery, while her gameleste provides backing.

Song's okay. Björk sounds great (as always), but it feels like it's stuck in its unexciting melodic theme for too long. It might work better in the context of the album.

So this is the second track followed by The Gate. Hm.
Interesting track, didn't sound like her at the beginning but I am diggin it. The instrumentation gives me Vespertine vibes.

Sounds great! Even though the lyrics may appear a bit cheesy but I think we all have 'sent MP3s' to the ones and those who didn't turn out to be so.

some sort of orchestral wank? check
extremely jarring and rhythmically meth-nightmarish ~electronic~ percussion? check
bjork singing in some capacity that probably completely disregards coherence to the instrumental side of the track and basically is just vocal dischord? check

a lot of people confuse my dislike for her new material for dislike for her in general... i still think she had a solid decade of good material in the 90s and early 00s. i just also find her new music absolutely vapid

Debut through to Vespertine is awesome, agreed. I need to give more time to her post-Vespertine material & will reserve (some) judgement till then but it generally pales in comparison.
