Can't wait for it to be delayed 27 times only to be disappointing when it finally does come out
|
| |
Never liked this band
|
| |
something something sauna studio
|
| |
Awesome! I can't wait for its release date in 2027
|
| |
this album is actually 100% done, according to jari, including mixing, mastering, all that bullshit
looks like he basically recorded an album of borderline filler so he could fulfil his contract with nuclear blast. quite clever, actually.
|
| |
I place my bet on the filler/out-of-contract theory.
|
| |
Wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be better than Time I due to less overly ambitious try-hard stuff and instead just a good 'plain' music album.
|
| |
how much money does jari need for food though
|
| |
album title is garbage
I was never enamored with their self titled, but it was pretty good. will def give this a listen
|
| |
bout fuckin time.
Probably gonna be dogshit though
|
| |
looks like he basically recorded an album of borderline filler so he could fulfil his contract with nuclear blast. quite clever, actually.
The way they'd been hinting about it (for MONTHS) was pretty aggravating, though.
|
| |
this is gonna be a huge letdown
|
| |
Not if it's mostly filler to fulfill a contract it won't
|
| |
Finally, the dude is a joke.
Hopefully it's good, but eh.
|
| |
Not if it's mostly filler to fulfill a contract it won't
|
| |
Top kek Jari took so much time and effort into finishing Time II that in between he managed to make a whole new album
|
| |
not a huge achievement when you've only released one album within 13 years
|
| |
all the mad ppl in this thread forget the debut was dope tho
|
| |
at this point does anyone even expect this to be good
|
| |
The song 'Forest' sounded pretty good so there is some hope
|
| |
" debut was dope tho"
yeah and Time I wasn't and it didn't even have fantastic production sooooo
|
| |
Sigh
If only Jari realized that nobody cares about 200 layers of cheesy synths and that everyone liked the debut because of the guitar wizardry
|
| |
^nail on the head
|
| |
I'll probably listen to this. I liked Time I.
But man, I bet Nuclear Blast is finally ready to kick Jari to the curb and I don't blame them in the slightest. After working on the same fucking album for over ten years (Time II nowhere in sight) and holding his music hostage so he can get a fucking sauna, I'd dump him too.
|
| |
As far as this being a filler album...maybe? He DID say he had more albums written after Time, so maybe he's just putting his money where his mouth is.
|
| |
They're not going to dump him; that's kind of the point. They're going to get their money whether they have to wait a few more years or not.
|
| |
I'm optimistic, I like the title too.
|
| |
wink emoticon
|
| |
calling it now album will be abysmal
|
| |
I think Jari is too skilled for it to be abysmal but I'm not getting my hopes up
|
| |
imagine if Jari had gotten his shit together and released both parts of Time in 2007, even the first album would've been killer
|
| |
Jari is the consummate riff machine, it wont be abysmal.
|
| |
I have actually met with jari. He said Time I and Time II were written right after the debut, he just was not able to record and mix it in a way that satisfied him. He also said because of the pressure from Nuclear Blast he had to to release Time I in a way he was not satisfied with the mixing. Since he wrote time he has written material for around 5 additional albums, originally planned to be released after the time albums and recorded in his own studio. I was able to listen to some samples of future after time material and it was definitely awesome. He also talked about releasing digital versions of his future material in a way that people can make their own mix.
I was disappointed by Time I as well, but I think him just writing a filler album because of the Nuclear Blast situation is definitely not the case. If the new album will be good however, only time can tell.
|
| |
"he just was not able to record and mix it in a way that satisfied him."
first record sounded fine/no other bands need their own studios to have excellent production/it took him years to make progress actually releasing Time I. I fail to believe the "I couldn't find a way to mix it properly" excuse. Ghost Reveries has some of the nicest production I've ever heard on an album but you don't hear Opeth complaining about needing their own private studio. They should've gotten the label to send them a producer who actually knew what they were doing, and had them coach Jari and actually show him how to actually turn all the knobs if that's something he really insisted on doing himself.
|
| |
In his situation, that's what I'd do, but Jari would never allow that. It's his way or the highway, apparently.
Nuclear Blast has done everything they need to as a label. The ball is firmly in Jari's court to get Time II out.
|
| |
They just have to upload all 13,000 stems in order to master.
|
| |
Jari is retarded.
|
| |
They're not going to dump him; that's kind of the point. They're going to get their money whether they have to wait a few more years or not.
doubt it. i imagine it's a three album contract, most labels like nuclear blast do those.
|
| |
omg it's darknoctus haha
|
| |
well they're gonna get that third album godammit and all the dozens of album sales it'll bring in.
|
| |
stop rimming his holiness, of course he is capable of great things, whining about proper mixing is not one of them
|
| |
I don't know, he's pretty good at whining
|
| |
"whining about proper mixing is not one of them"
this is seriously all he's done for like the past five years. "I need a new computer to finish the massive music mixing I'm doing, I need a studio to allow for the perfect sound I need..."
|
| |
"Most of all I need a sauna"
|
| |
i mean't the good stuff, not his flaws
|
| |
omg it's darknoctus haha
where? [:
|
| |
oh man he even did the face haha
|
| |
lol
|
| |
i'm quite the spectacle

Wintersun - The Forest Seasons
1. Awaken From The Dark Slumber (Spring) 14:40
Part I The Dark Slumber
Part II The Awakening
2. The Forest That Weeps (Summer) 12:18
3. Eternal Darkness (Autumn) 14:08
Part I Haunting Darkness
Part II The Call of the Dark Dream
Part III Beyond the Infinite Universe
Part IV Death
4. Loneliness (Winter) 12:54
Total running time: 53:20
Yes, you guessed it! This album is our version of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, but it hasn´t got anything to do with Vivaldi musically or with classical music. It is 100% original and solid Wintersun material! It is something new and different. Let´s just say it has a bit more darker tone overall..
|
| |
Wait, so this isn't Time II?
What the fuck?? So Time I just ends abruptly and that's it?
Where the fuck is Time II, Jari? You lazy cunt.
|
| |
"1. Awaken From The Dark Slumber (Spring) 14:40
Part I The Dark Slumber
Part II The Awakening"
Wow so creative
|
| |
I am looking forward to this though, I do think the seasonal theme will be cool
|
| |
Going to rate this a 1 on principle there is only 1 season and that season is WINTAAAAAAAARRR
|
| |
any singles in the near future???
sounds legit
|
| |
Lucca he's not releasing Time II until he can "properly" record/mix/master it the way he wants, so to make Nuclear Blast happy they're putting out this album to help fulfill their contract.
|
| |
i moved all my furniture around repeatedly, experimented with the windows being closed or open, on my own or with company, while eating, various times of day, and I just couldn't find a situation that did justice to Wintersun's music
|
| |
just watch they'll have ten-second snippets of new material on top of some pointless flashy imagery.
|
| |
you say that and then it'll hit the billboard 200 in the first week rofl.
|
