Actually pretty pumped for the new record. Tom's vocals aren't nearly what they used to be, but the instrumentals are very reminiscent of their early (awesome) stuff.
Really like the atmosphere in the beginning. Oh cool Danhage and Ekdal are back? Patched things up I
see. I've never been a huge fan of Tom's aggressive vocals, his softer ones are good. The song's good,
especially the chorus.
Damn why did the guitarist go all the way to the Ship for the solo? Haha
Haha I have no idea - I thought the exact same thing when the camera panned over to the cruise ship and suddenly Danhage was over there instead.
Dude that's Danhage? Dam couldn't recognise him.
"Holy shit man I'm legitimately pumped for the new album. I hope the rest of this albums is similar
and has this vintage feel of older Evergrey. Totally digging the piano accenting, long guitar solo and
more powerful drums."
Yeah I was sort of baffled at first too, but then in the solo he started doing the tapping which is like Danhage's bread and butter so I knew it was him. His hair doesn't have as much blond as it used to I think.
Yeah man I use pretty much the same username everywhere lol
It all looks black to me.....Of course that could be because of the video XD. He looks like Russell
Allen at 4:17
Dude the video is gorgeous, the black and white makes it look so pure. Its great to hear a single with
Yeah I'm prob the biggest Evergrey fan on Sput and this is the first time in a long time I've been legitimately excited for new stuff by them. I feel like they're finally headed back slightly towards their proggy, trve side.
The video does look amazing. Wasn't much of a story line but the visuals are sweet. Pure is a great word for it.
Yeah I think you're probably the biggest. Dude the chorus is so fucking epic, has that epic fantasy
war feel to it that would fit really well with more of those types of visuals. It feels so big and not
in a cheesy way. If only they had a story line for the video.
Agreed agred m/
Okay I need to stop listening to this, don't want to tire it out. But I fucking can't dude!
THEY CALL US KINGS!
haha right. It's good stuff, man. If the rest of the album is as solid I will be happy.
Petrucci needs to see this video and realise 7 strings should sound like this.
Sweet, the songs rules hard! Has much more potential than their previous album did when the first single was released from that.
I am not feeling the same return to form that you are, but a much more mature version of their recent sound.
Also, being a bloke with a fear of heights, the scenes in the vid taken atop the platform make me sick lol. I know I'm going to be listening to this song for a few days
Why the hell is the video unlisted on youtube?
Great concept for the video, great song, band is awesome.
Digging: Fleurety - The White Death
Underrated band... this is better than their last album, I'm grateful for that...
Digging: Xanthochroid - Of Erthe and Axen: Act II
Knew this was a KJ article. Been so long since I jammed these dudes, might as well give this a shot
Lol yeah you guys know me and my evergrey. Do it,key. m/
Wore my On ear Sony's, and the production feels flat :/. Guitar tones are gorgeous but they're a
little undermined by the really loud snare drum. The skins feel lifeless, especially the bass drum,
there's no definition, and the hi hat doesn't have that rich sound. And of course the bass is low in
the mix. Great I was hoping not to nit pick this song at least.
The production is slightly flat--albeit still an improvement from their last record. This trend is pretty prevalent in metal in general though.
Do wish the bass was louder though.
This should be the soundtrack for next season's game of thrones trailer. The chorus is so epic fantasy-esque
Agred Capt, cheers bro long time no see.
Decent song . Solo is great and drums are nice too . Doesn't really care about the original guitarist and drummer . I was OK with those who took part on Glorious Collision . Glorious Collision was a great album , one of their best . Hop the new album will be in the same level .
Digging: Trivium - The Sin and the Sentence
"Glorious Collision was a great album , one of their best ."
When put up against albums like Solitude Dominance Tragedy, Recreation Day, In Search for Truth, and The Dark Discovery, I don't know how you could consider it to be one of their best, but to each their own
THEY CALL US KINGS!!!
"Glorious Collision was a great album , one of their best"
DARE I LOOK IN THE MIRRROOOOR
CUZ ITS FULL OF HOOLEES!!!
