Moby shares new track

2014-06-28 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 9 Comments
Moby has penned a new track, 'The Only Thing' for the movie Third Person. The collaboration with Julie Mintz is featured on the soundtrack released on June 20. Regarding the song he commented: “Paul Haggis sent me a rough cut of 'The Third Person' and I wrote this song based on the movie. Specifically I wrote it about Liam Neeson's history in the movie, which I can't say anything about as it will give away the plot…"

The music video premiered features scenes from the movie interspersed with Moby and Julie singing. Watch it below:

Play is one of the most commercially successful albums of all time. How is he underrated?

In 2014, right now (not in 1999), most young people (including most users on this site), don't look at
Moby and say, "Man, this guy's a genius." For example, I rarely see his albums on lists for "bests" or
"favorites," his current work is not widely discussed among the users, and his album that came out
almost a year ago has just over 30 ratings. Maybe I should have said "currently underrated" ??? It's
not hard to select one album from a group that has released 11 LPs and say, "______ is one of the most
commercially successful albums of all time. How is he underrated." Well, clearly that album was not
underrated; but, an album does not define an artist's entire status. It was hard for me to even find
his latest album, Innocents, in a store near me (Best Buy, Hastings, the local record store, etc.)

Is it really? I always thought he was underrated as well. I just never see his name anywhere.

Wait For Me is easily in my top 5 favorite albums of all time. If you haven't sat down and listened to that all the way through, you haven't lived.
