Avatarium stream new album 2013-11-01 by Voivod STAFF | 5 Comments | Swedish doom metal outfit Avatarium are streaming their self-titled debut album at Terrorizer.
The band line-up is comprised of Leif Edling (Candlemass) on bass, Marcus Jidell (Evergrey) on guitar, Carl Westholm (Candlesmass) on keyboards, Lars Sköld (Tiamat) on drums and vocalist Jennie-Ann Smith.
Guitarist Marcus Jidell commented on the album as follows:
We had been looking for feeling rather than trying to make everything technically perfect. Everything really came together the first day Jennie-Ann came in the studio and sung ‘Moonhorse.’ She had everything we looked for in a singer: Rock ‘n’ Roll attitude, Jazz and Blues feel, a big and powerful voice, and yet so able to be fragile and extremely tender in her interpretation of the songs.
The album will be officially released on November 4 through Nuclear Blast Records.

Awesome, awesome album, definitely picking this up.
Oh and another thing: The spirit of Ronnie James Dio lives through the voice of Jennie-Ann, I have no other way of explaining how she sounds on several occasions in the album.
