fans will be butthurt because not funeral. but idc gonna rule
| |
The cover looks like they blew up EPCOT.
And I can see it now on Pitchfork. "Great, but not Funeral"
| |
Looks like they want to take their suburban stab at Remain in Light.
| |
that's the unfortunate consensus all their albums will have for the rest of their career
| |
sounds good to me
| |
gon suk :]

tummygon stahp

| |
My cock is up now.
| |
Not a big fan of this type of music but these guys can pen a great song.
| |
"WE ARE THE KIDS CAUSE WE WERE THE KIDS THAT PWNED THE KIDS OF OUR KIDS AND IN GOD WE TRUST CUZ WE
ARE THE KIDS"
haha
| |
Hopefully this will be better than the Suburbs
| |
Are these guys as good as all the praise they receive?
| |
yeah but they'll have to make the best album of the past 10 years if they want to beat funeral
| |
@HD Funeral deserves pretty much all of its praise, Neon Bible is an underrated gem, The Suburbs is overrated but still good (it is to Arcade Fire what The Wall was to Pink Floyd)
| |
Yeah Neon Bible has a handful of phenomenal songs (Keep the Car Running, Intervention, No Cars Go), but overall it's streets behind Funeral and The Suburbs imo.
This is probably my most anticipated release for the rest of the year.
| |
...and My Body is a Cage ofc
I like NB more the Suburbs because each track just seems to do more and feel more...distinctive. Whilst the Suburbs is solid (and would have been damn near perfect as a 10-12 track album) songs like Rococo and We Used to Wait get very repetitive
This is probs my #2 most anticipated, after Kayo Dot
| |
I agree that The Suburbs doesn't have many individual tracks that stand out, but by the same token there isn't a single one I don't like, and I think it all works really well as a whole. For me, Neon Bible works in virtually the opposite way.
| |
@baseline: that's a pretty heavy statement to say that they intentionally released a bad album. Does any artist actually do that? Kid A was Radiohead trying break away from Ok Computer, but they didn't have to sacrifice quality to do it
| |
pfft Neon Bible "mediocre". its better than the Suburbs
| |
Ah man can't wait to hear this.
| |
@YourDarkAffected Bob Dylan intentionally released a bad album, Self Portrait, to get hippies to move off of his lawn.
| |
Neon Bible rules! wtf?
| |
nah
| |
saw this on their fb page i can't fucking wait
| |
@tommy you hurt my feelings bro

I'm gonna go with Gyro on this
| |
I just realized that these guys won AOTY back in 2011. Holy shit.
| |
coo
| |
Nice!
| |
The cover looks like they blew up EPCOT.
Don't think that picture was said to be the cover, though (not to my knowledge/not yet). Just a picture they posted along with the announced date
| |
that picture is not said to be the cover, and the 'epcot' thing to which you refer is called a geodesic dome
| |
