New Mike Abiuso (Venetia Fair) Cover 2013-04-28 by Jom STAFF | 3 Comments | Mike Abiuso of The Venetia Fair has posted a cover of The Gay Blades's "Shake the Graves" to help benefit The One Fund Boston, an organization co-founded by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to assist families affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.
Abiuso posted the following:
Hey guys,
I've been feeling awful about the tragic events that recently took place here in Boston. This morning as soon as I woke up I decided spur of the moment that I was going to do something to help out. I really don't have much to offer other than different forms of art. I chose my favorite song which just so happened to have been written by two of my best friends (Shake the Graves by James/Clark and Quinn/Puppy of The Gay Blades) and did my interpretation of it to dedicate to those affected by the devastating Boston event.
My main goal was to keep everything very natural and spontaneous to remain sincere to the subject. I revamped the lyrics, recorded two full takes of the song mistakes and all and chose one to run with.
If you are able to join us in this opportunity to help those in need feel free to purchase and download this track. All proceeds go to The One Fund (onefundboston.org)
We can accomplish anything if we work together.
So much love,
-Michael Abiuso
