Reunited Stone Temple Pilots plan new material

2008-04-09 by Alex101 | 8 Comments
According to The Associated Press, the reunited Stone Temple Pilots on Monday (April 7) revealed the details of their 65-city tour, set to begin May 17 in Columbus, Ohio. As previously announced, the trek will kick off with a headlining appearance at the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio. [The exact cities and dates will be released shortly.]

"The story's not finished," singer Scott Weiland told The Associated Press. "There's more to be revealed and more to be told."

Guitarist Dean DeLeo said the band plans to record a new album after the tour, which is set to wrap in November.

The Grammy-winning rockers celebrated their announcement with a private show in the Hollywood Hills.

The band will make its first national TV appearance since reuniting on the May 1 edition of ABC-TV's Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Weiland was dismissed from Velvet Revolver last week, following his announcement that the group's just-completed European tour was its last and accusations of erratic behavior against him by the rest of the group.

Well, I guess it's time to start placing bets about how long this will last! My money's on 1 year.

Sorry, but Weiland just cannot stay sober enough to keep anything together...especially considering the fact that he was clearly just kicked out of his other band for the same sorts of douchebaggery that ended STP in the first place. I was a big STP fan and might consider catching this tour if the prices aren't bad, but I'm not holding out hope that this will be a long reunion.

If former Guns & Roses members kicked Weiland out for bad behavior, how is STP supose to hold up?
