In honor of a newly finished co-headlining tour, Mastodon and Lamb of God have decided to celebrate the feat with a new song “Floods of Triton".

Going back on a 20+ year friendship, Mastodon and Lamb of God have recently finished a tour that saw them play both of their breakout records, Leviathan and Ashes of the Wake respectively, and have decided to wrap it off with a collaboration that sees the 2 metal legends tip their hats to their legacy. Mastodon produced “Floods of Triton” and they recorded the track at Mastodon’s West End Sound studio in Atlanta.

Ideally you want these collabs to achieve a "more than the sum of their parts" effect and at the very least just be the sum of their parts if not.

This isn't even that. Pretty boring song

It's a fine song, but will be forgotten by me pretty quick.

Pretty sure I came up with some of these riffs in high school though

Felt like a B-side to Blood and Thunder on first listen. Literally digging up a 20 year old sound while trying to fit current era LoG into it. Just doesn't work.

Exactly this.

Not an album, not even an E.P.

I'm not sure how one song created on the road, could be expected to encompass the perfect fusion of styles, being the ultimate joint statement of both bands.

It's absolute fine.

Yeah you'd think these 2 would come together and really riff their asses off on this thing but instrumentally its so uninteresting.

They'll get the streams off the names in the collab alone so why not just phone it in
