New Head Automatica track 2024-05-18 by StrizzMatik | 21 Comments | Head Automatica, long-dormant project of Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw, has released a new song titled "Bear The Cross" onto streaming platforms. It's the first material released by the band in 18 years, who reunited in 2023 for touring and recording of new material. Daryl had this to say about the track:
"To me, 'Bear The Cross' is both a logical and unexpected evolution of Head Automatica's sound. The sounds and ideas are very familiar but age undeniably changes your personality, creative leanings and approach. There is an urgency and boldness in what you feel empowered to produce after a certain point. 'Bear The Cross," and our new material on the whole are a reflection of that while still constantly maintaining a body moving element."
The song is available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and other platforms.

Guessing new HA stuff will basically sound like heavy Color Film based on just this track and blind speculation, which I am here for but I really hope some HQ version of Swan Damage gets fully leaked or released someday.

they had an interview with Darryl, he said Swan Damage will never be released, he also said it was a releif cause he wasn't happy with the recordings, but some of the new songs will be reworkings of some of the songs from that album

Cool to hear there will be reworkings of songs off of Swan Damage, because the live recordings on YouTube still has me wishing it was released; they sound very good.
Liking the new track, it has more of a Color Film sort of sound to it, mixed with Head Automatica. Definitely feeling it though! Daryl sounds as good as ever.
