I really like it
|
| |
Einar is a great singer, but this is too vocal-centric for me.
|
| |
The whole band does vocals live, I think it's okay on an opener song. If the whole record is like this than that would be a shame
|
| |
Agreed. Looking forward to the record, end of October is not too far away. Damn autumn is once again gonna be great
|
| |
Yes, that's what worries me.
That was a reply to panda dog's comment.
|
| |
Einar is a great singer, but this is too vocal-centric for me.
Agreed so hard.
Destroys any potential enjoyment I get out of their music.
|
| |
anyone knows who's producing this?
|
| |
Nah this band isn't really doing it for me personally
|
| |
The vocals could be a bit louder for sure though, but they are atleast produced superb. I wish especially the bass was more prominent. The record is mixed by Adam Noble, recorded with David Castillo
|
| |
"anyone knows who's producing this?"
David Castillo, he did their last album as well
Personally, I love this
|
| |
Great stuff, but after all they were hinting I was expecting something different. This isn't very different from the last records in my opinion.
|
| |
People expecting an intro to completely 180 their sound are making me lol
I'm sure it'll be an interesting release regardless
|
| |
I liked their mix between crazy heavy, progmetal and progrock more to my liking.. their new direction into more slow, soft songs isn't doing it for me sadly
|
| |
This song and video feels more like something that should have been a solo track for the vocalist. He's listed as the vocalist/synths/keyboards, and that's pretty much the majority of the song. Also, the rest of the band don't even appear in the music video until almost 3:30 into a video that's only 5:55. Between all that, the sheer amount of vocals on this song, and the musical path the band have been taking over the last few albums, it's feeling like he's taking control of the band... having said that, I do like the song.
|
| |
Wow this fucking slays
|
| |
David Castillo also did Soen, so he knows how to do Bass justice (i think)
|
| |
David Castillo...why do I know this name? What else is he producing? Btw thanks for the answer!
|
| |
Love the new song
|
| |
"David Castillo...why do I know this name? What else is he producing? Btw thanks for the answer!"
He's done stuff for Opeth, Soilwork, Katatonia and a bunch of other European bands
|
| |
Einar has turned Leprous into his personal solo project and the band is not better off for it.
|
| |
"Einar is a great singer, but this is too vocal-centric for me." [3]
However, I really liked the strings and synth work so there's a chance they could turn this sound into a great album.
|
| |
Fuck you eclipse, i got it first plus the guy that actually mixed it, ungrateful fuck (still love you though)
|
| |
Band slayz.
|
| |
For someone who's hated their recent musical direction I didn't mind this for some reason.
|
| |
haha Beardog, I was thanking both of you. Anyway, have to check out this band more properly since they scored pretty high ranking regarding the bands of the decade (which I will re-work soon)
|
| |
No problem man, basically all of their records are really good
|
| |
This guy's one of the best singers of the decade. This could be a James Bond track.
|
| |
standout element of this band are the vocals. I wouldn't care for just another prog album, but this, this is an absolutely amazing opener, I'm stunned, quite frankly. y'all wanting the same old same old amuses me but shame on this attitude for holding so many artists back. not these guys tho.
|
| |
I loved their last album, but if the new one is going to be similar at the end of the previous one... The band is amazing and I want to hear them playing. Drummer is insanely good.
|
| |
can't stop listening to this
if every song on the new album will be of this quality it'll be an easy 5/5 for me, no joke
|
| |
So, just had a first listen to most of the album and it basically does feel like the vocalist’s solo project. The music feels like it’s 80% synths/electronics and 20% the rest of the band. Also, there’s vocals from just about the start to finish on each song. I really kind of get a similar vibe to the last Ulver full-length. Having said that, the album is pretty damn good, but the most ‘band effort’ song on the album is this one. Maybe more listens will reveal more of the rest of the band.
|
| |
Now that's fucking disappointing
Goodbye, excellent Leprous streak
|
| |
Brace yourselves, worst Leprous album incoming ):
|
| |
This is pretty simpleton for Leprous. They make it sound good on the surface, but I'm not getting that instrumental depth that I dig about them. Idk
|
| |
Creampie is right as per usual
|
| |
"It's the album no-one is expecting from Leprous. When you think you know where it's headed, you'll realize that you're wrong."
I'm gonna take Solberg for his word here.
|
| |
I want to reiterate that the album is pretty cool (IMO), but it’s obviously a million miles away from their earliest stuff, and is even a pretty big departure from the last album.
|
| |
Wild how you can hear this album ~2 months before release... So it's completely done? Or is it a type of beta?
|
| |
It’s totally completed. I heard an official promotional copy from their record label.
|
| |
Nice. Lucky you. I'll try to remain open in ignorance for the next 1.5 months, lol.
But really, they usually deliver greatness. This song is lacking in depth, but who knows... Oh yea, you do! hahaha

You and your goddamn Moderator privileges
that being said, I'm still looking forward to it. Einar is such a good vocalist.
