“Metallic hardcore legends”
| |
These guys never disappoint.
| |
fuck yessss
| |
Stuff rules.
| |
Honestly, I can't think of a melodic hardcore band that delivers such quality jams so constantly. Band couldn't write a bad song if they tried, it seems
| |
“metallic hardcore legends”
i mean they aren’t pioneers but they’re one of the best going these days
| |
yeah i struggle to think of anyone as consistently great these days
fucking banger as well, especially around the 1:50 mark, hopefully they'll do a uk tour in support again
| |
They always deliver!!
| |
Song got me hype enough to start a riot in a retirement home
| |
Apparently Kyle, the drummer, was the primary songwriter for this song. Everyone in this band is so damn good at writing for this genre.
This may be one of my favorite songs from them, the riffing during the chorus is everything I want from a band like this.
| |
Lets not forget that ‘It Prevails’ (a way better melo hardcore band) dropped a perfect EP last week. Listen to them please
| |
This was great! Counterparts never disappoint [2]
| |
I'm so happy almost everyone unanimously agrees that these guys kick absolute fucking ass.
| |
even pika likes it holy shit
i love how you can hear elements of all 3 of their previous albums in this
| |
Really excited for this. Last album was sick.
| |
Also, I think Nothing Left to Prove is a very fitting title for these lads.
| |
whats the difference between metallic hardcore and metalcore?
| |
i also feel like it's a know it when you hear it type situation .... these guys have a predominantly hardcore song w/metal flourishes while metalcore is the opposite? sometimes? idk sub-genres are stupid.
| |
These guys have always been consistently excellent and I have no doubt this new album will deliver all the goods.
| |
Fuck this slays so hard. The more I listen to it the more I feel this new album has the potential to be even better than YNYA. I know my lads will deliver, because it's Counterparts, so another potential 5 is on the way if the rest of the album sticks the landing.
| |
Also need some new END asap. m/
| |
'It Prevails (a way better melo hardcore band)'
nah theyre shite hun

Band is so ridiculously fucking consistent it's not even funny. YNYA slapped major ass and I'm certain this will too. The wait for november will be unbearable.
| |
"Lets not forget that ‘It Prevails’ (a way better melo hardcore band)"
Boiiiiii if you dont get yo musty ass outta here lol
| |
Sounds real good, though I'm a bit bummed that they appear to be heading even further down the path of "let's cram as many weedly dee guitar runs into every measure possible." I've always loved Counterparts' technicality but I've been jamming Tragedy Will Find Us lately and I love how they play more reserved and really let the songwriting shine through.
Still stoked for this, of course.
| |
Sounds like any of the 40+ songs they've done
| |
Those leads on the chorus are tasty, but I do agree with bloc
| |
Don’t get me wrong, Kyle is the best drummer in the game but when it comes to beautiful riffs, ‘It Prevails’ delivers. I love counterparts first 3 albums but after that they tried to get heavier for the young angry kids and didn’t have enough melo for me. Listen to the song Parachute by It Prevails and tell me that opening riff doesn’t move you.
| |
That was solid
| |
"Sounds like any of the 40+ songs they've done"
Yea this sounds just like Soil, Monument, Arms Like Teeth, Reflection, Outlier, Witness, Wither, etc....
| |
fuck yeah boys
| |
The riffs on this song are seriously relentless. I don't know how the fuck they fit in so many unique leads into one track
| |
Naysayers must be destroyed.
| |
Can we just 5 it now?
| |
Ya this jams. Ya it's exactly Counterparts in a nutshell just like they have been for the past 5+ years now. I'm okay with it, but it's okay if you're not okay with it too.
Sweet, good talk sputnik let's keep hashing out this exact type of difference of opinions like one opinion has to be objectively right/wrong instead of yuck/yum.
| |
ONLY OPINIONS
CAN KEEP US FROM MOVING FORWARDDDD
| |
"Lets not forget that ‘It Prevails’ (a way better melo hardcore band)"
yea fuck you
| |
This is really good, as per usual with these guys.
| |
I can't decide if this band is more boring than The Story So Far...
| |
band is overrated af
| |
Who does this style better?
| |
"I know I’ve said this for every record we’ve ever released but... Nothing Left to Love is best Counterparts record. I wouldn’t hold your breath for anything ground breaking, but as we grow and progress we just get better at writing Counterparts songs, and that’s all we’ve wanted to do. If you fuck with the band you’ll probably love it."
| |
so hyped for yet another masterpiece from these guys. They put on a killer set @ Warped Tour 2017, anxious to see them live again
| |
this rips, looking forward to the album
| |
make sure to check out from the unforgiving arms of god by END
same vocalist but much much heavier
| |
Fuck yeahhhh. The melody in the chorus ooooft, that's my shit right there
| |
Love Let Me Die is END's best song ez.
| |
I will not stand.
WILL NOT STAND.
For TSSF hatred itt.
| |
Now we just need some news on what END is up to.
| |
^ New album is tracked, last we heard
| |
Will probably drop sometime in December after the new Counterparts album's dust settles.
| |
Love their earlier stuff, but their more recent material sounds all the same to me.
| |
Oh shit where did they say?
| |
Last album is so good. Looking forward to this
| |
You could have left the band's name off the article and I would have guessed it's Counterparts, because it sounds like every single other Counterparts song I've ever heard. Band hasn't done anything new. Ever.
| |
"Lets not forget that ‘It Prevails’ (a way better melo hardcore band)"
Joke of the year
| |
I do love this sound, but I have to agree I'm kinda burned out on counterparts. it really does all sound the same after a while. also, at this point in my life I just can't take the depressing lyrics getting pounded into my head over and over. surely, he will write something positive for a change?
| |
Maybe he's just
Yanno
Depressed mane
Also goodness fucking christ this is the best thing I've heard from them since The Difference Between Hell and Home
| |
band absolutely rules. i am sure they will exceed my high expectations.
| |
"Band hasn't done anything new. Ever."
All of their albums are actually pretty distinct from each other when you're acquainted with their discography.
| |
This song is amazing
| |
band absolutely rules. i am sure they will exceed my high expectations. [2]

hard agree with both of you. this band is special.
| |
Love this guys.
| |
That ending breakdown is so sweet
| |
dope
| |
Band rules. Song rules.
| |
Band rules. Song rules. [2]
| |
Every time these guys release an album it ends up being better than their last. They're really good at refining their sound on each record. V high expectations for this. Band rules.
| |
I will chew through to the bone in my desire to be free
| |
Can we get another single now? I need more.
| |
Woah so apparently Alex Re is back for the first time since 2013 and Adrian is somehow out of the band with no statement being released???
new single rules tho, to nobody's surprise.
| |
New song up on yt. Can't decide which one is better but their guitar work is just outstanding, carrying the torch mis sigs and shai hulud left obviously
| |
