Solid track overall. Not as great a single as Death of a King was, but still fun. I swear Tomi's growls keep getting better with every release.

| |
I thoroughly enjoyed this song
| |
That was fun. The key change in the chorus is awesome. These guys manage to progress at microscopic rates and still remain fantastic.
| |
Nuclear Blast produced a decent video!!???
| |
Holy shit the opening synth sounds like the old Mortal Kombat theme lmao
But seriously, it does have a hard 90s dance influence.
| |
Yeah, that intro threw me off.
| |
bloc, not sure if you've ever listened to their masterpiece Elegy, but if you want to hear Amorphis do dance:

Not even "Silent Waters", Xeno? You should listen to that, on your own time/when you're ready.
| |
I feel like Xenophanes would enjoy Tales from the Thousand Lakes, possibly the band's debut, but not much else.
| |
I trust you, other Xeno. I'd only heard "Silent Waters" so I figured I could rec it.
| |
That was pretty good.
| |
Silent Waters is a great starting point for metal newcomers, it just doesn't hold up as well after multiple listens, and being further exposed to other subgenres. Early Amorphis has a more traditional melodeath sound mixed with a bit of doom. In a way, I'd say Amorphis progressed through their career in a way that's not unlike Katatonia, when you compare how they initially sounded to how they sound now.
| |
i do kinda wish the guitars had a bit more power to them overall but this was still a great track.
| |
It was Katatonia. That's the other band I was thinking of as well that I hadn't really checked out. Mind reader. Now I can be at peace.
| |
If you're looking to get into Katatonia, I'd recommend Brave Murder Day, The Great Cold Distance, and The Fall of Hearts (in that order). Gives you an idea of how the band has progressed over time.
| |
I may, I may. Favorite Katatonia track of ever? I'll start there & see if I can proceed.
| |
Off the top of my head, in no order: Takeover, At Last, Ambitions, July, Forsaker
| |
Bet. I'll see what I can do. I appreciate it, Xenorazr.
Okay, you guys proceed to discuss Amorphis now.
| |
Hard to believe that a band this far into their career is still able to produce such consistently good material.
| |
Very nice track, I might actually give the album a shot though I've never listened to amorphis.
| |
Was pretty sweet
| |
THE BEES. Bees. My god.
Also, this is good stuff. Like honey and wine.
| |
Sweet to have some new Amorphis.
| |
Amorphis slap
| |
tomi is like mikael stanne in that he gets better with age

These dudes have been one of the best bands in metal for 2.5 decades, why stop now???
| |
I'm loving this more and more with every spin
| |
Is this what they call 'textured riffs'?
Also why are the skeletons sugar sweet?
| |
maybe it has something to do with Day of the Dead or something
| |
certainly not the opener that "under the red cloud" had, nice enough track, disappointed by the lack of lead guitar
| |
Song lacks guitars but other than that it's solid
| |
damn dis LIT
| |
new album leaked
| |
Noice
| |
it's SO good
| |
Daughter of Hate is absolutely incredible, easily one of the best songs they've ever done imo.
| |
New album is sexy
