it's lacking the "night time" and "gritty" part but nobody ever seriously expected that from Weezer anyway

That being said this isn't all that bad, but it does sound like touring with Panic at the Disco made some kind of impact on Rivers

I'll always love weezer, they were the tits back in the day but they ain't half done some total bilge.

I'll be seeing them when they come over here purely to hear their 90s material and the stuff from EBAITE and White. Everything else they've done is either mediocre or complete rubbish.

King of the World was one of the singles from the white album and truthfully I thought it was probably the weakest track from the album so maybe this won't define the new album. I'd be fine with weezer making a pop album if they'd actually do a good job unlike the garbage that is raditude.

I actually think this is pretty great, since I didn't have any serious expectations going into this. Disregarding what Weezer's style has been, I think this sounds really good on its own. But I have knack for really liking albums no-one else does (This Unruly Mess I've Made, The Life Of Pablo, x Infinity)

It's catchy, but lifeless. Granted, that's coming from someone who doesn't really like Weezer in general.

this isn't bad, considering I view The White Album and Everything Will Be Alright In The End as their two best albums and two most serious albums, I have faith they can take the good song writing from the last two albums and pull this style off for a whole album.
