Pretty average.
| |
Goddammit Rivers.
| |
weezer no you were doing so well
| |
I don't hate it but come on dudes just play your instruments...it's not weezer when they play around in the studio
| |
Y'know this wouldn't be so bad if it had the carefree actual summer feel of the White Album. This is just shit
| |
They should do a collab with Lorde.
| |
slap them on the wrist and ask that they don't do this in 2018
| |
disappointed but not entirely surprise considering this is pretty much exactly how they described The Black Album in interviews almost a year ago.
| |
No no noooo Weezer cmon! You were doing great.
| |
did I miss the interview when they described The Black Album as "Chainsmokers meets Weezer"?
| |
“I’m already well into thinking about the ‘Black’ album which’ll be coming out in a year,” he explains. “I’ve just got to go with what feels exciting in the moment and right now, I’m excited to do a black album but y’know, that could change.
“The next album is going to feel like an urban environment, night-time and gritty and hopefully a lot more modern sounds, synthesised sounds, samples maybe. I like to break away from the distorted power-chord thing but it’s hard ‘cos it works so well.”
it's lacking the "night time" and "gritty" part but nobody ever seriously expected that from Weezer anyway
| |
more like an inspirational commercial about your kids growing up to be successful businessmen
| |
ahh makes sense. I only know of the interview where he described Black Album as "quiet" and "winter-y"
| |
hmm i don't hate this
| |
"winter-y"
"feels like summer"
| |
yep looks like synonyms to me
| |
rlly bc i dont hear a guitar so i rate it as automatic TRASH
| |
they pulled a Linkin Park on us, putting out pop-y forgettable garbage for half your career, go back to your original sound, then slap your fans in the face by going back to the sounds of your worst material.
That being said this isn't all that bad, but it does sound like touring with Panic at the Disco made some kind of impact on Rivers
| |
The White Album wasn't really that great to begin with tbh..
| |
band wasn't good to begin with
| |
Weezer Pilots
Twenty One Weezers
The Pilot Album
| |
I really don't like this.
| |
Aww no weezer! You had a good thing going again all you had to do is not mess with it. Bad weezer! That's a bad weezer!
| |
Meh
| |
Maybe this'll be the only poppy track on the Dark concept of the Black Album and it'll serve as some ironic, self-reflective statement
| |
that's giving modern Weezer too much credit tbh
| |
@Ted I'd hope so too, but this pop song is undoubtedly as straight-faced as they come
| |
lost my shit when this leaked, how could they regress so far
| |
Hardest sowing '5' rating of all time
| |
I was wondering when you'd show up zak, I bet you love this track ey?
| |
I'll always love weezer, they were the tits back in the day but they ain't half done some total bilge.
| |
I'll be seeing them when they come over here purely to hear their 90s material and the stuff from EBAITE and White. Everything else they've done is either mediocre or complete rubbish.
| |
Yikes.
| |
King of the World was one of the singles from the white album and truthfully I thought it was probably the weakest track from the album so maybe this won't define the new album. I'd be fine with weezer making a pop album if they'd actually do a good job unlike the garbage that is raditude.
| |
"Hardest sowing '5' rating of all time"
lol I'm guessing you haven't seen the track review he put up, he slammed it
| |
It's like Raditude if Raditude was actually done well.
Also I would recommend reading the lyrics. This song is a bit darker than the sound suggests. Still interested in this.
| |
God fucking dammit.
| |
"'I like to break away from the distorted power-chord thing'"
But... that's Weezer.
| |
how are people still cutting so much slack to a band whose last half-decent album was 20 goddamn years ago?
| |
DAT SOME STINK ASS. [23434598287892789]
| |
[The White Album wasn't really that great to begin with tbh]
preach x2
| |
preach
Arcade with the bad opinions at it again
| |
I actually think this is pretty great, since I didn't have any serious expectations going into this. Disregarding what Weezer's style has been, I think this sounds really good on its own. But I have knack for really liking albums no-one else does (This Unruly Mess I've Made, The Life Of Pablo, x Infinity)
| |
It's catchy, but lifeless. Granted, that's coming from someone who doesn't really like Weezer in general.
| |
I mean I've never been the biggest Weezer fan but this is lol bad.
| |
it's happening again.....
| |
Lets just hope this album doesn't stoop to Raditude levels
| |
............
| |
Really fucking catchy. I dig this. Not sure what anyone is expecting from these guys except super digestible pop music.
| |
Which motherfucker keeps putting the album name "Radi2ude" on their Wikipedia page
| |
I'm expecting this to be the "Thank God For Girls" of the next album, something that doesn't mesh as well but still sounds kind of okay
Then again my expectations could be shattered like glass
| |
this is a lot worse than thank god for girls. really just a soulless song
| |
This is pretty alright.
| |
i dont hear a guitar so i rate it as automatic TRASH
| |
Is that the beat from "Still Dre" in the background of the verses
| |
this song rocks come up with a better argument, people. this beat is bangin. your just jaded rock fans
| |
White album was soooo good, and now back to this pop fetish of Rivers'.
| |
This isn't really all that bad, but the chorus is pretty weak.
| |
sitarhero thinks this is good. really fuckin shows the state of this yea
| |
don't wanna listen cuz i'm scared that this song can give me ebola
| |
This is about as good as the new linkin park single.
| |
..and Blink. All our favourite bands suck these days
| |
Gross. Rivers finally remembers what fans like about his band, and then does a 180 and puts out this shit. What the fuck is wrong with him?
| |
He's Rivers Cuomo
| |
We only deserve 2 good albums anyway
| |
yeah the first two
| |
this is terrible but as long as I got blue, pink, EWBAITE and white to jam i'm ok
| |
somehow this shit is even worse than beverly hills
| |
not an easy feat
| |
nah this is better than beverly hills. that doesnt say much tho
| |
this song is fucking cancer
| |
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=feI5F0ywjGs&feature=youtu.be
I'm into it
| |
gonna avoid this till the Black album is out and I've listened to the white album for the first time first too.
| |
probably for the best
| |
this isn't bad, considering I view The White Album and Everything Will Be Alright In The End as their two best albums and two most serious albums, I have faith they can take the good song writing from the last two albums and pull this style off for a whole album.
| |
This piece of shit doesn't sound remotely close to Weezer. Bit of an identity crisis, methinks. Either that or midlife crisis
| |
River's entire career has been a 20 year midlife crisis
| |
