Yellowcard in the Studio

2016-02-26 by InsomniacDozer | 15 Comments
Pop-Punk veterans Yellowcard have announced via Twitter that they've begun work on their new studio album, due for release sometime this year. In addition to this, it's been announced that they've left Razor & Tie, the label that released their 2014 effort Lift a Sail, to return to their previous label, Hopeless Records.

Good news! Hope it's better than "Lift a Sail" tho.

it's always weird when an album shows up under "my discussions" when I haven't even commented on it.

anyways, inb4 sowing!

Lift a Sail was probably their weakest album (besides all of their early career nonsense), but at the same time I definitely don't want to see them regress back to their old sound. Whatever happens, it will probably be at least decent.

I didn't like Lift a Sail pretty much at all, but I still see potential for a new sound there. Here's to hoping

Always been interested in these guys but never got the time to dig into their discography. Still don't have it, so they gotta stay on the to-do-list.

YESSSSSS

I actually really enjoyed Lift a Sail, but I can understand why they left the label. That album didn't catch on with fans like the previous two did.

Kind of curious to see what direction they end up taking...they're always at their best with the summery pop punk of OA or SA, but it's clear that they've always had an ambition to be something more (ref: L&S, LaS).

I agree with Sowing. Unlike a lot of others I liked Lift a Sail, but i do feel they're at their best with the more upbeat pop punk. That being said I'd be interested if they could somehow blend that sound with the more "experimental" stuff they've tried with L&S and LaS.

That would be cool. A summer pop punk album with a little more branching out is about as much as I'd ever want from these guys.
