Soulfly release title track

2015-08-11 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 10 Comments
Soulfly are now streaming the title track of their 10th studio album, "Archangel", which is due for release this Friday. The track showcases the strong black and death metal influences Max spoke about in interviews about the new album, in particular the recent output of Polish blackened death metallers Behemoth.

Archangel is out on August 14 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

That was surprisingly good.

This is actually really solid but I don't hear much Behemoth (except maybe in the guitar tone).

A lot of people have compared it to Blow Your Trumpet Gabriel.

Anyway this is the best track they've done in a while, if the rest of the album is like this I'll be very happy.

The orchestral elements are similar too actually.

Yeah hopefully WSOSTM is just a one-off.

With that said I've heard Live Life Hard sucks too. But two out of an entire album isn't too bad considering Max's output (this'll be his 5th album since September 2013)

Great review

It's not as if Soulfly's lyrics have ever been that good haha

True but at some points it reaches new depths. The biblical lyrics are actually pretty decent by Max' standards though.

The bonus tracks aren't much to write home about. The You Suffer cover is introduced by Max's grandson which is pretty annoying, while Acosador Nocturno is just an alternate version of Deceiver with Portuguese lyrics. Soulfly X is good though.
