New Volta Drummer..Again

2006-11-01 by embroglio | 29 Comments
People seeing the Mars Volta play on October 17th might have noticed that the band had a different drummer behind the kit, none other than Deantoni Parks. Various sources (Wikipedia and The Comatorium) say that Flemming was fired for unknown reasons. It is uncertain wether Parks is a permanent replacement.

Sorry, it's a little late, but I have a feeling the Mars Volta isn't going to last much longer at this rate.

I can't help but agree with you at this point. The band has run their course and put out what is IMO one of the greatest records of out time, and they're getting kind of annoying now. This Message Edited On 11.01.06

Thank god they got rid of Fleming. Everything I had heard from him up until this point (on Youtube and stuff) didnt sound like he was a good fit for the band at all.

Mars Volta won't end until either Cedric or Omar die/disband/do something else

Drummers, bassists and pianists or a lack thereof are not going to end the band, sorry

Subtle Dagger is right on, in fact the only two members of the mars volta are omar and cedric, there rest of the band is a part of "the mars volta group" it says this right of the Cd Booklet. These guys will always be able to find drummers basists, pianists, trumpets, saxaphones, or what ever else they may want.

Yeah, but a four year old could replace Phil Rudd or whoever.

Amputechture should have been better, and split up more like Cassandra Gemmini and Miranda, but i guess they just didn't really want to go to the alternative "symphony" idea in which so many people got mad... oh well, i doubt that the Mars Volta can pull it together again...

ARE YOU KIDDING? "and they're getting kind of annoying now." You guys obviously have NO hope for the Mars Volta/ Yeah the drummer wasn't very good in this last album, but they are VERY talented musicians, and I hope they find another drummer that complimented omar, and cedric as much as their drummer in deloused. They are so musically intelligent, they are traveling in Australia now, I'm sure their inspirations will create a new album,.... I hope so!
