Cobain Top Earning Dead Celebrity

2006-10-24 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 11 Comments
According to Reuters, Kurt Cobain will this week be named top of Forbes' list of the top-earning dead celebrities.

Cobain will take over the crown from Elvis Presley, who's landed near the top on each of the five previous lists. Cobain's sudden leap to the top comes as a result of his wife, singer Courtney Love, selling a 25% stake in her husband's estate for a reported $50 million, well in excess of the $42 million Presley's estate has raked in since last October.

According to a Forbes spokesman, this is Cobain's first time on the list, though it's almost guaranteed that it won't be the last time.
