Deathgrind / mathcore band Lotus Eater Machine have announced that they are going on an indefinite hiatus. The Boston, MA quartet posted to their social media to announce their dissolution, citing members losing passion for the project at the current time. The posts also note that their performance on April 20th at the "Beef Fest", a small music event involving various punk acts from the Boston area, would be their last for the foreseeable future. The band states that they intend to reunite in the future to complete the follow-up to 2023's Prisoner to Seven Demons and play more live shows.

Eye, the new musical venture from Jessica Ball have released their second single, The Other Sees.
The group take many elements from Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard, who Ball is the lead singer of.
Ball created the project 'in part by the existential dread looming outside as well as the sudden ill health of her dear friend, MWWB guitarist Paul “Dave” Davies, then fighting for life after a Covid-related stroke.'
Eye announced their debut album Dark Light will be released on April 26th alongside their debut single In Your Night back in March.
Alcest have released the second single from their upcoming album Les Chants de l’Aurore, along with a music video available for streaming on the Nuclear Blast youtube channel, directed by Kendy Ty with artistic direction from Neige.
Neige states:
“Despite its more accessible vibe, this song is actually the most personal song of the album for me. “Flamme Jumelle”, which means “Twin Flame”, is about the idea of loss in general and the difficulty of coping with the absence of someone you deeply loved. It could be a family member, a friend, or a partner. On a more spiritual level, the title refers to the possibility that certain souls are connected in this life and beyond, and that separation is temporary and just a mortal concept.”

After an agonizing 14-year wait, Julie Christmas has announced her sophomore record under her own name. Ridiculous and Full of Blood releases on June 14 and is available to pre-order on multiple vinyl color variants, including an animated picture disc. Danish noise punk rock band Amusi have re-released their first and only album, Adapt in Codes, for free through their bandcamp page with new color artwork and album information.
Post-Hardcore and Rise Records darling Dance Gavin Dance posted an announcement to Instagram on 4/14 confirming the departure of long-time lead vocalist Tilian Pearson. The statement reads:
"Dance Gavin Dance has always attempted to reconcile situations internally. But, after much consideration, we have as a collective decided to say farewell to our long time member and friend, Tilian. We wish him luck, along with our support and respect for his future endeavors in music and life.
We thank him for his years of friendship and contribution during his time in Dance Gavin Dance. As people grow and change, creative differences can arise and life paths and goals may no longer align.
We want to thank you for your support over the past two decades. We are truly grateful that we can continue to play music as a career and we are excited to move forward with this new era for the band.
Six Feet Under have dropped the 2nd new single off of their upcoming album "Killing for Revenge".
So far, the 2 singles released have shown a dramatic increase in speed and heaviness compared to the band's last album, "Nightmares of the Decomposed".
Swedish heavy metal outfit Century, has revealed a couple of new tunes at its official Bandcamp location.
Titled "Sacrifice" and "Avenging Force", the new cuts will be published in tape through Electric Assault Records. This special release, will be exclusively distributed during the Swedes' upcoming "The Conquest of Europe" tour.
"Sacrifice" will be part of the band's sophomore album, which will be released later in 2024.

Said Fenriz: "Nocturno Culto sculpted 'Black Dawn Affiliation' and as much as I writhe in woe trying to describe riffs I did not make, we are certainly rocking hard and dark around a dungeon of slow Kreator 1986-era riffs."
New Jersey based Post Hardcore/Emo band Thursday have just released their first song in 13 years. Titled 'Application for Release from the Dream', the track is the first new song the band have released since reforming in 2016, and the first music released since their last album, 2011's No Devolucion. As well as this, it’s the first music from the band featuring ex-Texas is the Reason member Norm Brennan, who has been playing guitar in Thursday since 2021. It is unclear whether or not this song is a one off, or if more music will come from the band.

Norwegian stoner rock band El Caco have announced that they will disband after a final show in Oslo on January 3rd 2025. El Caco was formed in 1997 and have since released 8 records, the final being 2023's Uncelebration.
Dead by April have announced the departure of longtime drummer Marcus Rossell, who has been with the band since 2014. An unnamed replacement is apparently in place for their upcoming shows.
CJ Snare, lead singer of glam metal band Firehouse, has died at age 64.
Snare had been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2020, and took a hiatus from the band in 2023. He had been intending to return for shows this summer, but unfortunately suffered cardiac arrest.

Turkish death metallers Engulfed are scheduled to release their second full length album via Dark Descent Records on April 19th. The album, entitled Unearthly Litanies of Despair, is the band's first since 2017's Engulfed In Obscurity. A preview track named "In the Abyss of Death's Obscurity" is streaming on Youtube.
Toronto-based blackened death metal band Adversarial is streaming a new track from their forthcoming full-length album entitled Solitude With the Eternal..., which is scheduled for release on May 31st of this year via Dark Descent Records. It will be the band's first full length recording since 2015's Death, Endless Nothing and the Black Knife of Nihilism.

Comprised of vocalist Jacob Bannon (Converge), guitarists Sean Martin (Twitching Tongues, ex-Hatebreed) and Mike McKenzie (The Red Chord), bassist Greg Weeks (The Red Chord) and drummer Jon Rice (Uncle Acid, Tsjuder), the band released their debut album Shadow of Life in 2020.
