Cult Finnish label Blood Music has announced its entrance into the realm of video games, acting as publisher and distributor for the in-development, cyberpunk adventure game VirtuaVerse, featuring an original soundtrack by Master Boot Record.
Developed by Theta Division Games – VirtuaVerse is a pixel-based, point-and-click adventure, narrating tales of technomancers and virtual reality debauchery in our not-so-distant future.
VirtuaVerse has been in development for just over a year and boasts the following team:
* Graphics by Valenberg (Perturbator "Sentient” music video / GosT “Arise” music video).
* Story and soundtrack by the chiptune / cyber-metal artist – Master Boot Record.

PNW live production crew Tidalbridge have released their video of "It'll Happen," a sweeter, slightly denser nugget for Childspeak, known for a unique brand of music they refer to as 'baby-prog.'
One of the band's guitarists, Michael Whiteside (Muscle Beach Petting Zoo, Thom Simon), elaborated on the session on Facebook a few hours after its release:
"We shot this when I was still feeling pretty relatively new to the band, and I feel like this is a pretty honest take of where I was at in my head at the time with the project.
I'm happy with the vid, but I can hear my playing self consciously weaving in and out of the previous guitar players parts, rather than connecting with the song in my own way.
A lot has happened since, and I'm happy to say this song is so much more fun to play for me now, and sounds phenomenal on our NEW RECORD COMING OUT NEXT YEAR, after finally finding my own voice within it."

In what seems like the thousandth time Ministry front-man Al Jourgensen has subsequently broken up and reformed the once-hallowed industrial rock act this past decade, the band has announced their fourteenth album "AmeriKKKant":
‘AmeriKKKant’ is out on March 9, 2018 via Nuclear Blast Records.
“This album, ‘AmeriKKKant,’” said Jourgensen, "will provide FEMA-type relief for the devastation ‘Hurricane Cheeto’ has brought upon us."
Produced by Al Jourgensen, recorded at Caribou Studios in Burbank, CA between January and May this year, and with striking artwork created by Mister Sam Shearon, the psychedelic, politically influenced and very much in-your-face AmeriKKKant’s nine tracks are rooted in Jourgensen’s unadulterated anger for what’s happening in America today - the waning respect for the U.S. Constitution, the growing acceptance of one’s opinions replacing facts, the decline of our leaders’ sen ...more
Ministry have released a new music video for the track "Antifa", the first released from upcoming album AmeriKKKant. The song marks a return to the more industrial driven sound of '90s Ministry, as opposed to the thrash dominated approach of recent times.
The track has already faced backlash among alt-right and neo-Nazi users on YouTube. So far, the band and Nuclear Blast have not responded.

Progressive death metal icons Cynic appear to have settled a longstanding dispute on the status of the band.
Vocalist and guitarist Paul Masvidal will continue under the Cynic name with new musicians. Drummer Sean Reinert is no longer a member of the band, and will continue with other projects. Reinert is now a member of Perfect Beings. Bassist Sean Malone played a few shows with Cynic after the dispute began but it is unconfirmed if he remains in the band.
Below is Reinert's Facebook post regarding the issue in full:
"Today I post with a heavy heart, but also a lightened spirit. A settlement has been reached between Paul and I in regards to CYNIC. I am unable to disclose any of the details regarding this agreement but I am at peace with the arrangement. I am going to step aside from CYNIC and continue with my personal projects - Paul is going to continue with CYNIC and his.

Kung-fu Kenny wants you to buy DAMN. again (maybe in anticipation for the highly anticipated NATION.?!?). The rapper has decided to drop DAMN. COLLECTOR'S EDITION., an edition of the album which features no new tracks, b-sides, alternate versions of tracks, remixes, covers, or literally anything else that is usually on any other collectors edition. In fact, the only real difference between the collectors edition and the original is that the track list is reversed.
Some speculated(memed) upon the album's release that the album was actually meant to be played backwards. Months later, Kendrick stated in an interview that the album is meant to be played both ways, and now, Kendrick has given the meme-turned-truth the ultimate validation.
Watch the interview in which Kendrick initially confirmed the fan theory here:
'More than six years removed from making his solo debut with Plays "High Gospel," Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Thee Silver Mt. Zion co-founder Efrim Manuel Menuck has lifted the curtain on a follow-up effort.
Titled Pissing Stars, Menuck's latest will arrive February 2 through Constellation.
In a statement, Menuck wrote, "PISSING STARS is inspired by the brief romance of american television presenter MARY HART and MOHAMMED KHASHOGGI, the son of a saudi arms dealer. i don't know how long their union endured, but i remember reading about them when i was a desperate teenager – there was something about their pairing that got caught in my head. i was living in a flooded basement with two other lost kids and a litter of feral kittens. we were all unfed. This record was made in dark corners between 2016 and 2017. a very rough pair of years, shot thru with fatigue, depression, despair, and too many cigarettes and too much booze. but also = the ...more
'Swing Metal' Swedish band Diablo Swing Orchestra have just released their 4th album, entitled Pacifisticuffs, after more than 5 years since their previous release, Pandora's Piñata.
The album was announced on October 2014 after the replacement of the previous lead singer Annlouice Lögdlund by Kristin Evegård, but suffered multiple delays since, which lead to a change in the band's record label.
The band showcases the eclectic influences and scatterbrained approach to composition they've come to be known for, taking inspiration from disco, jazz, electronica, etc., with a punkish heavy metal approach.

Former Voice contestant turned pop star Melanie Martinez has responded to rape accusations from fellow popstar and friend, Timothy Heller, in her statement below.
"I am horrified and saddened by the statements and story told tonight by Timothy Heller.
What she and I shared was a close friendship for a period of time. We came into each other's lives as we were both starting our careers as artists, and we tried to help each other. We both had pain in dealing with our individual demons and the new paths we were forging, but I truly felt we were trying to lift each other up. She never said no to what we chose to do together. And although we parted ways, I am sending her love and light always."
