Gazpacho have released 'Soyuz One', the leading single from their upcoming 10th record, 'Soyuz'.
Taken from the song's YouTube video description:
"The themes of Soyuz were born from the idea of how beautiful moments pass and cannot be “saved for later”, so within Soyuz are interconnected tales of people and lives “frozen in time”. Taking inspiration from a multitude of eras and subject matters, including the doomed Russian space capsule Soyuz and its iconic captain Komarov; the Tibetan Buddhist funeral practice in “Sky Burial”; the inclusion of the oldest recording of the human voice from 1860 and the Hans Christian Andersen inspired “Emperor Bespoke”."
The Republic of Wolves, on the verge of releasing shrine on March 27th, have dropped a third song in advance of the record. Titled "Colored Out", it combines the melodic qualities of No Matter How Narrow with the alt-rock aesthetic found on their earlier works.
Mason Maggio on "Colored Out":
"Colored Out’ is one of the more upbeat songs on the record, although it deals with heavy lyrical themes of loss and self-identity. The song initially grew out of a guitar riff that we had written for our 2010 album Varuna, so it has a lot of history for us – but lyrically and instrumentally it developed into something that, I think, embodies the contrasting sounds of this project really well."

Electronic / Cholo-goth duo PRAYERS have shared their latest video titled One 9 One 3. According to an interview with Leafar Seyer, the song talks about identity and how one comes to terms and embraces their own. The video comes from their latest album, Baptism Of Thieves, which was released on November 24th.
"Identity is a key element in knowing thyself, and through it we discover what we like or dislike about ourselves. I literally fought to be who I am and to look the way I do. I still get shit for it, too. People are appalled by my long painted nails... Adversity was my rite of passage and because of it we have chologoth. Thanks to their lack of acceptance, I turned into my inner mirror and embraced what I saw.”

Norwegian multi-instrumentalist and vocalist will release his new album, entitled Amr, on May 4 via Candlelight/Spinefarm.
Ihsahn says of the new album:
"Knowing that the form would be somewhat similar to what I did on the previous album, and given that I write stuff in a certain way, I wanted to change the wrapping this time. So instead of going with my go-tos of strings and orchestration, I focused on analog synths and more in-your-face sounds. It goes back to the beginning of Emperor, when we brought in strings and horns inspired by orchestral movie scores by John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith, but at the same time we loved all those eerie synth soundtracks of, for example, John Carpenter's Halloween.
I've also been listening to some contemporary R&B and hip-hop stuff with those deep, deep 808s. It's just somehow darker than a lot of metal or black metal. It has a depth and an energy to it that I find captivating, so I wanted to ...more
Post hardcore band A Lot Like Birds have revealed in a Facebook post that the band is splitting up. They had this to say in the post:
"So, here we are, nine years into something we built.
In 2009, when it started, it was just a question asked from one kid to a bunch of other kids. "Do you want to make music with me?" Bassist, guitarist, singers, keyboardists, violinists, cellists, saxophonists, trumpet players, percussionists and even a drum machine. Our shows were in garages to our very patient friends. We washed cars to raise money for tours that went no further than three or four cities away from us. We wrote simply, we played sloppily and we released a record called Plan B.
We’re here now. It’s 2018 and three records followed, each of them shooting out in directions we couldn’t anticipate and couldn’t have predicted or harnessed if we tried. An experimental record with a new singer, a concept record that nearly dro ...more
