| My band Floodlight released its first demo!
I'm the drummer for a band called Floodlight and we just released our first demo so I wanted to show it off to you all. It was done totally DIY and we're pretty proud of how it turned out. So we hope you like it and tell your friends about it. I also thought I would make a short list to give you an idea of some of our inspirations. The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Arguably the biggest influence on our sound is Brand New, especially their darker stuff in their last two records. The knack for dynamic choruses and dramatic crescendos is something we've gravitated towards. | | 3 |  | From Indian Lakes
Able Bodies
From Indian Lakes has a perfect balance between soft, clean, spacey passages and driving, forceful parts. That influenced our song writing a lot. Able Bodies was an album that we have talked about endlessly. | | 4 |  | Circa Survive
Juturna
Circa Survive has a spacey quality to them as well, but in a different way. Their heavy use of delay and bass to create atmospheres and transitions are influential to us. Tunnel Vision and Hallway, the last two songs on our demo are heavily Circa-inspired. | | 5 |  | Foxing

Emo of all kinds have been a major influence on us. This album in particular was something we were listening to a lot when writing some of these songs. | |

07.15.16 | Definitely digging the instrumentals, but the vocals aren't doing it for me. At times they're pretty decent, but at times, they border on a bit cringey. Other than that, I'm digging it. I like the ideas being presented. Definitely hear the different emo influences. I'd like to hear more stuff like this with some studio quality production. About a 3.2 for me. |
