Top 5 Eps Of 2013

My favorite EPs from this year.
5Dads
Pretty Good

Every fun and whacky emo band generally goes through a "maturing" phase, and Dads are
no different. Though still retaining that trademark happily-sad lyricism, this EP breaks
away with some darker and deeper instrumentation and sounds.
4Adventures
Clear My Head With You

Beautiful lyricism, great instrumentation, fantastic emo.
3The Flaming Lips
Peace Sword

Moving back to a more Yoshimi/Embryonic sound, this EP ditches the dreary and desolate sounds from The
Terror for the most part, embracing some neo-psych freakouts instead.
2Atlas At Last
Atlas At Last

An incredible debut from this hardcore outfit, with extremely impressive vocals and stunning guitar
work throughout. User creatura said it best in his review: " The band goes from strength to
strength with their 6 tracks, and the EP comes off sounding as a cohesive piece of work rather
than a collection of songs - each song is skilfully crafted and structured, maintaining a certain
uniqueness from each other while still being unified in their sound."
1 Their / They're / There
Analog Weekend

An insanely fun, fast paced, dynamic, and galactic-ally twinkly EP from some of modern emo's kingpins. After
two incredible EPs, this project desperately needs a full length.
