| 10 Year Sputversary + My band’s new record!
Sput… Almost 10 years on this godforsaken site. On again, off again, but always lurking. Feels like yesterday that I was sitting in high school English class struggling to log in on my phone (it’s really not much better now, ha) and rate every album I’d ever listened to. I remember way back when we used to do loads of plug.dj sessions. The internet is a strange and beautiful place. This community. has opened me up to so many artists and records that I would have never been exposed to otherwise. The appreciation is real.
So, my band just dropped our 1st full-length. I do the lead vocals and play rhythm guitar - this is my main creative outlet. It would mean the world if you all could check it out. It’s punky rock music, a little sing-songy-y. Think PUP, The Menzingers, The Hotelier, etc. We’re 100% DIY, so any support goes a long way (and touches our hearts I could talk all day about this thing (the bad and the good), but, I tthhiinnkk Atari may be spinning up a review sometime soon - which I can’t wait to read! Please let me know what you think. If you stream on Spotify, you can see all of the cool artwork that our good friend did for us. | 1 | | The Menzingers On the Impossible Past
Most of the entries on the list are records that are very informative of my taste and writing on this thing (first few are direct influences of “For Fans Of” entries, many of the others are just things that I listen to enough so as to be inescapably linked to anything I write), last entry is our record :) Peace and love, all. | 2 | | PUP Morbid Stuff | 3 | | The Hotelier Home, Like NoPlace Is There | 4 | | There Will Be Fireworks The Dark, Dark Bright | 5 | | Captain, We're Sinking The Future Is Cancelled | 6 | | The Tallest Man on Earth There's No Leaving Now | 7 | | Aesop Rock Labor Days | 8 | | Oceansize Frames | 9 | | Hank Williams 40 Greatest Hits | 10 | | Fair to Midland Fables From a Mayfly: What I Tell You Three Times is True | 11 | | Dave Van Ronk Dave Van Ronk Sings Ballads, Blues, and a Spiritua | 12 | | Cult of Luna Somewhere Along the Highway | 13 | | Sigur Ros ( ) | 14 | | Locktender Rodin | 15 | | Somewhere South of Here Leave Me for the Crows

09.15.22 | Thanks for all of the kind words, friends.
@Sloth, if we generate enough interest, we may print a short run of vinyl with some cool art package w/ all of the track art. Probably not enough to make any money, but just enough to make some bros happy | EvoHavok

09.15.22 | "How old are you, anyway?
I'm old enough to know that I'm up to no good"
Is this a dig at predatory behavior in the scene? | PitchforkArms
09.15.22 | Ha! Not necessarily. With the state of the scene now, I'm sure it reads like that.
That was actually the first song we ever wrote as a band - in like 2015 LOL. Probably the least "read into -able" song I've ever written. Underage drinking and passing out drunk where I shouldn't have been.... | chemicalmarriage

09.27.22 | hell to the yeah, dude. At this point, we're all a little too comfortable in our cushy jobs to really throw big time touring out there, but we may do some midwest weekend things in 2023. I think we're focused on getting LP2 in the works. I own/operate a media studio that I just moved locations and getting the buildout finished there so that LP2 can be undertaken is priority #1 :) | combustion07
01.02.23 | Works cannot express how much I miss the good ol' plug.dj days and also the tinychat that I'd always be in as liljon or lilwyte lol. Simpler times and many good memories! | PitchforkArms
01.12.23 | Big time, comb. Those years we SO formative. I was such a metalhead at that point, too, LOL. I have been on the hip-hop & country tip for YEARS now. |
