Songs To Walk To

In order to soothe the pain of the one hour plus trip between home and university each morning and afternoon, I listen to music on my handy iRiver (iPods are for hags). Here is a list of songs that receive more than a few plays on average.
1In the Woods...
I am your Flesh

So after listening to "HEart of the Ages" a trillion times for a review I wrote, I've no choice but to give "Omnio" more listens now. Didn't like it as much as "HEart" at first, but it's growing on me. One of Transeth's lines chills me: "No one to touch, no one to hold... I am alone..."
2Isis
The Beginning and the End

I can't get past this track on Oceanic. Straight after, you have the track "The Other", and I can not wait two whole minutes before I get the chance to headbang again.
3Immortal
Withstand the Fall of Time

Ah, what an awesome track. It's rather handy that each of Immortal's albums generally has its own flavour. I'm getting a classic heavy metal vibe on At the Heart of Winter, very riff driven stuff, assisted by Horgh's handy drumming.
42pac
All Bout U

This song makes me feel special - it's all about me after all S2. It's a shame I can't hook up some subwoofers to my earphones, because this song is bass heavy.
5Children of Bodom
Bed of Razors

1:56. Nuff said.
6Roy Orbison
She's a Mystery to Me

When all that metal begins to drive me nuts, I turn to the Big O. I've listened to "You Got It" to death now and now "She's a Mystery to Me" arises to take its mantle. I love myself some hardcore falsetto action. Some trivia: Bono and Edge co-wrote this song for Orbison.
7Stargazer
The 69th Maggot

Chugga chugga technical death metal. The opening vocal line is like nothing that I've encountered before (which isn't saying too much given my lack of death metal listens). Basically, it sounds like the singer is repeating the first word a couple of times, and combined with the clattering hi-hat, you have something that I can't describe well.
8Sigh
A Sunset Song

Fellow Sputnik reviewer and artistic advisor Meatplow's reaction to this song was that it sounded like a mashup between Cradle of Filth and David Bowie. I loled at the time, but probably shouldn't have, given that I haven't actually listened to Cradle of Filth before, haha. I love the funk break in the middle.
9Slipknot
People = Shit

Please don't hurt me, but I really like this song. Questionable title aside, the song is heaps catchy, the riffs are easy on the ear, Corey's vocal attack is blistering, it's varied enough not to be boring, the breakdown is breakilicious. If you're not a fan of the studio version (it's slightly flat and Joey's kick tone is sickening), give the Disasterpieces version a go. The live setting sparks it up, it amounts to a perfect opening on the dvd.
10Arcturus
Kinetic

Oh man, the outro rocks my jocks. Who could have thought that 'worm holes' could prove to be such an emotive item, haha? This song is made of win - I haven't encountered such a track that is 100% daring in a long time.
