Agreed. But I'm not sure if you could really count Holy Diver as a debut for Dio. |

12.27.12 | "Excellent list."
Thanks JT.
"STP had a good debut."
Are you referring to Stone Temple Pilots?
"Agreed. But I'm not sure if you could really count Holy Diver as a debut for Dio."
Dio had a lot of different debuts. You can add all those debuts in this list. He consistently produced high quality work. |

12.27.12 | Protest the Hero's Kezia is a great debut. |

12.27.12 | you could go all day with debuts... i'd like to see a list of solid sophomore efforts, thats where things get tricky for bands. |
manosg
12.28.12 | @BillTheButcher
Indeed. However, the bands on this list all released good follow-up albums. |

05.04.14 | Thanks man. Seeing this list now, I'd remove a couple of those. |
Judio!
05.04.14 | Awesome list Manosg. I love a whole lot of these, although personally have never been too fond of High Voltage. A few bands you missed off the top of my head with great debuts are Metal Church, Ulver, Mr. Bungle, Jeff Buckley, Slayer, Agalloch, Aphex Twin, System of a Down, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Thee Silver Mt. Zion, Death, Amon Amarth, Vektor, and Rage Against the Machine. |

Elvis Presley - Elvis Presley
John Mayall - Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton
Blind Guardian - Battalions of Fear
MC5 - Kick Out the Jams
Steppenwolf - Steppenwolf
Angel Witch - Angel Witch

05.04.14 | Guess I know you well, huh manosg?
Although I also know that you like blues, soul and reggae now and then.
I believe you like funk too. I don't know if you like pop though. |
manosg
05.04.14 | haha yeah, I guess you do danny.
I love the blues, I'm ok with soul and funk, and there are 15-20 reggae albums I really enjoy.
Regarding pop, I'm sure there are a few albums out there that would appeal to me but can't think of many right now. Michael Jackson for sure, some 90s stuff that were constantly on the radio back then, some Elton John but I'm always open to recs. |
