11.19.14 | It's too close to call for me personally between Necrolord and Seagrave. Dan's work is some of my absolute favorite, but Wahlin had such an enormous amount of covers that were nearly if not equally as good. |

11.19.14 | Repka is my fav for funny cartoony goodness.
Seagrave is probably the best because his shit is really eerie and disturbing.
Necrolord is great but kinda samey. |

11.19.14 | Yeah Seagrave has the best atmosphere to his work IMO. There's a cheese element to Repka's stuff that's really lovable and you can tell it's one of his covers from a mile away. Semi-agree on the samey comment for Wahlin's work at times, but it still rules. |

11.19.14 | The cover for The Key is probably my favorite of all time. |
Keyblade
11.19.14 | I'd say Necrolord if all of his covers didn't look the same haha |

11.19.14 | He's got a fair amount that look different, I think I just chose a poor variety.

There's plenty there that I wouldn't immediately think were his work that still rule. |

11.19.14 | I should have added Paolo Girardi to this list too, he's the best in the game as far as modern artists go IMO (for metal stuff anyway). |
ShadowRemains
11.21.14 | seagrave hands down for the classic stuff |
Keyblade
11.21.14 | osdm artwork is just the best |
emester

11.21.15 | Seagrave unquestionably. Examples: Altars Of Madness, Left Hand Path, Like An Everflowing Stream, Effigy Of the Forgotton, and The Key are all perfect examples of Dan's nightmarish and surreal artistry. He gave perfect visuals to those albums that leave just as big an impression as the music contained within. |
