08.11.12 | I use the Koss ProDJ100 headphones. They have great mids and cover all the frequencies well. They're pretty neutral sounding so if you need a ton of bass they might not be the best choice. I love mine tho. 80 bucks. |

08.11.12 | What do you want these for, casual listening or production?
Price isn't an issue, but is size? Can you deal with larger over the ear models or do you want to
stick with earbuds?
I always try and look here for my normal headphone needs: http://www.headphone.com/ |

08.11.12 | depends what youre after. if you're after in-ear buds, get klipsch s4i (i think they have some new models coming out soon though). if you're after light ones that aren't in-ear, get koss ksc75. problem with the koss is that they leak a LOT of sound and aren't noise cancelling in the slightest. this is because they're open-backed. open-backed headphones leak noise but often have a bigger soundstage. i use b&w p5, but these are quite expensive, and although they sound great and look BEAUTIFUL, they can be uncomfortable after a while as the ear parts are quite hefty for on-ear phones. if comfort is really important then definitely go for bose ae2i, you can hardly feel them, they're stunning. i head grado are best for sound quality but are pricey. i don't really know what else to recommend as i don't know loads about different headphones, but just some things to consider and read up about. |

08.12.12 | i've had the same pair of bose on-ear headphones since 2007 (first generation, obviously, and not the noise cancelling type). they always sounded great till the ear pads started losing the faux-leather (or whatever the hell) covering about a year ago, which worked with the memory foam to create a seal over the ear, rendering the sound flimsy and weak. i recently ordered replacement pads from bose (since you can do that with these!) and they sound just as good as before. Not to mention i've still not come across a more comfortable set of headphones, with such a well balanced sound, for the money of course. that said, i've not tried a whole lot either, but i do know my first gen bose oe have lasted about five years, and they're still running strong. still no complaints. the second generation (oe2) sucks pretty hard though. |
