My first year-end 2014 list. Ranked in order pretty much. Had to cut way too rmany good releases rrrrto get it to 50 but here it is. Coming soon: hardcore LPs, rhip-hop albums, (maybe) songs of the rrrryear, and albums of the year. |

The most incredible band to ever emerge from Indiana. RIP. |
2 | | S.H.I.T. Collective Unconciousness
Bad Brains-core from Toronto done perfectly. |

The second most incredible band to ever emerge from Indiana. Sounds like Bad
Brains on acid. |

Stompy, new-era NYHC. |
5 | | Breakout Razor Wire
A Texas band with one-two beats and riffs to bring you back to the earliest days of punk. |

A better sounding version of their already great demo. Compare to Negative Approach. |
7 | | The Coneheads Demo
I haven't ever heard a punk band sound so much like Devo. |
8 | | Free At Last What's Inside Four Walls
Springfield, MO makes a surprise appearance in the top ten. Late 80's youth crew
sounds from the Midwest. |
9 | | Dirty Work Hard Days And Night
The last EP from KC's Dirty Work. Still angry, but more melodic than ever. RIP. |
10 | | VCR Greatest Hits
Noisy Toronto organ punk. Sounds like Question Mark and The Mysterians on speed. |
11 | | Protester Protester
DC had a lot of one-man band demos and EPs this year and this is clearly the best of
them. |
12 | | Civilized Dust And Blood
Youth Attack's best EP release of the year. Fast, mysterious hardcore from Colorado. |
13 | | Glue (TX) Glue
While not quite on par with their demo, Austin's Glue is still a contender for best band
in Texas. |
14 | | Sterilized Zero Sum Game
Hadn't heard of this band before this year. Two EPs. This one's the better one. |

Some of the most ignorant, gut-punching hardcore riffs of 2014. |
19 | | Beta Boys Demo
Best new Kansas City band of 2014. See them live if you get the chance. Singer is a
real live freak. Recommended if you like AMERICAN PUNK. |

Not quit as good as the demo, but NYC's Ajax keeps pounding em out. |
21 | | American Hate Demo
The best band in Oklahoma City, making punk for future serial killers. |
22 | | Zap Demo
One of the shortest, most fun demos of the year. Northwest Indiana ruled punk in 2014. |

After a solid demo, UK punks drop a fuckin banger on us. |
24 | | Savageheads Savageheads
If you like Discharge and Conflict, you will enjoy Boston's Savageheads. |
25 | | Freak Vibe Prostration
Most accurate band name of the year. Sounds like Marilyn Manson meets Dead
Kennedys. |

All-girl, Portuguese-language punk from NYC top their 2013 debut. |
27 | | Koward Desperate
New d-beat from Boston. |

One of the most straight-forward bands in punk today. More rockin from Boston. |

Slick, tough hardcore with a punk edge. |
30 | | Poison Boys Demo
Poison Boys sound like Dead Boys. |
31 | | Treatment Tape 1
New Texas freaks channeling Culo, Nuke Cult, School Jerks. Songs about eating Frat
Brains and more. |
32 | | Culture Shock (CO) Demo

Texas is sick. |

The UK continues to pick up steam. |

Indiana swamp rock. |

Denver really upped their game this year. |
43 | | Total Abuse Looking For Love
Back for another punishing. |
